JOEY WYTE PAM BONNELL KM Students Complete Western ROTC Program Two students from Cleveland County who completed Western Carolina University’s ROTC program. have been commis- sioned second lieutenants in the U.S. Army. Joey Steven Wyte and Pamela Darlene Bolton Bonnell, both of Kings Mountain, were among 24 cadets commissioned May 13 following commencement exer- cises at Western. Wyte, a 1982 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School, was a Dean’s List stu- dent in fall, 1983. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wyte of Blalock Drive, Kings Mountain. Mrs. Bonnell, a 1980 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School, graduated from Western with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. A Dean’s List student for five semesters, Mrs. Bonnell was a member of Alpha Phi Sigma criminal justice honor society and president of the Criminal Justice Club. During the commissioning ceremony, Mrs. Bonnell was pinned with the same gold bars that her hus- band, 2nd Lt. Charles Bonnell, was pinned with at his commis- sioning last year, Mrs. Bonnell is the daughter of Linda R. Morrow of Route 2, Kings Mountain and Jimmie E. Bolton. She is the daughter-in- law of retired Major and Mrs. William G. Bonnell of Belmont. Birskovich Receives Degree At Appalachian Kim Birskovich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Birskovich of Kings Mountain, received her B.S. in Foods and Nutrition from Appalachian State Univer- sity in recent commencement ex- ercises. Miss Birskovich minored in chemistry with concentration in dietetics. She has received a post graduate internship from the American Dietetics Association in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and the National Health Corpora- tion. She plans to work toward her master’s degree at Middle Tennessee State University. KIM BIRSKOVICH Miss Birskovich is a graduate of Matthews High School in Vienna, Ohio. It’s A Boy Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Panther of Grover announce the birth of their son, Brandon Wayne, Sat., May 26th, at 3:23 p.m. at Cleveland Memorial Hospital in Shelby. The baby weighed pounds. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Panther of Grover and Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Smith of Kings Mountain. Great- grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Panther of Grover, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Pleasant of Smyrna, S.C. and Mr. and Mrs. JE. Kirby of Gaffney, S.C. The baby is grandson of Gaylon Canipe of Grover and Jewel Canipe of Shelby and Peggy Rowell of Kings Moun- tain and James Rowell of Charlotte. Great-grandparents are Rosella Self of Shelby and Woodrow Canipe of Orlando, Fla., Great-grandmother is Lola Glover of Kings Mountain.
