Kilgore Earns Degree At Livingstone College Artie Franklin Kilgore, of Kings Mountain, received his B.S. in Business Administration from Livingstone College in Salisbury. Chambers, president to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., was speaker during the 102nd com- mencement exercises at Liv- ingstone College and Hood Theological Seminary. Ninety- eight graduates and a capacity audience were told that, “black Americans must become involv- ed and support organizations that protect their freedom.” Chambers, a nationally renowned expert in constitu- tional law and civil rights from Charlotte, N.C., drew repeated applause throughout his speech. Zion Church, delivered the baccalaureat ser- mon. white lace over pink tablecloths held a center arrangement of pink and white mums, tinted daisies and baby breath. Pink candles in crystal holders were placed on each side of the ar- rangement. Pink satin bows ac- cented the corners of the tables. Miss Goodson was presented a corsage of pink and white tinted daisies which was pinned to the shoulder of her two piece pastel color stripped dress. LT Rehearsing ‘The Fantasticks’ Try to remember...the setting is a wooden platform, the scenery is a barren stage, there is a boy, there is a girl, their fathers and a wall. It seems meager, but this is “The Fantasticks,” the longest running musical in American theatrical history. It is now in rehearsal by the Kings Mountain Little Theatre. The production dates are June: 28, 29, 30, and July 1 at Park a Grace Auditorium in Kings Mountain. The Kings Mountain Little Theatre is funded in part by a grassroots grant from the North Carolina Arts Council.
