A’s Play For Title The Kings Mountain A’s will play the Morris Field Rangers Saturday night at 7:30 at David- son Park for the Western Divi- sion title in the Triple County League. Roberts scored 62 points for the Celtics in a 107-106 loss to the Mavericks on Thursday. Tyrone Moore and Bernard Thompson scored 34 points each and Albert Hart added 31 for the Mavericks. The 76ers handed the Lakers their first loss Saturday, 44-38. Jamie Surratte scored 20 points for the winners and Joe McClain had 31 for the Lakers. The Lakers now lead the league with a 7-1 record, follow- ed by the Celtics and Hawks ‘at 5-3 each, the Mavericks 3-5, and the 76ers and Rockets ‘at 2-6 each. In games played last Tuesday, the Celtics edged the 76ers 72-71, the Lakers defeated the Mavericks 67-52 and the Hawks edged the Rockets 58-53. James Roberts scored 25 points and Julius Pagan 22 to lead the Celtics over the 76ers. Jamie Surratte scored 26 and Teddy Jefferies 18 for the 76ers. Joe McClain scored 27 points and Brian Byers 18 to lead the Lakers over the Mavericks. Albert Hart had 24 and Tyrone Moore 19 for the losers. Shawn Smith scored 24 points and Jeff Ross 16 to lead the Hawks over the Rockets. John Hill had 22 and Darius Ross 17 for the Rockets. In addition to the Mavericks 107-106 win over the Celtics Thursday, the Lakers edged the Hawks 55-52 and the 76ers defeated the Rockets 59-55.
