Jones is the first KM netter to every quality for the event. 5-11 at the Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club in Shreveport, Loui- siana. Jones is one of 16 boys from the South to qualify for the event, and the first Kings Moun- tain tennis player to ever qualify for the tournament. Bryan’s good showing in the Southern Closed Boys Cham- pionships at Macon, Ga., in June, and his overall strong tour- nament record placed him as the number seven player from the nine southern states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Tennessee. Ask About Wildlife QUESTION: When I bought my new hunting-fishing license recently I picked up my copy of the 1984-85 Inland Fishing, Hunting and Trapping Regula- tions Digest. In thumbing through it, I noticed that there is no information in it on the dove hunting season. Can you provide the season dates and tell me if there are any changes in the shooting hours or bag limits ‘from last year? T.C. Morganton. ANSWER: Because informa- tion on the dove population level is gathered up to mid-summer and the dates for the fall dove ‘hunting | season are then set, it is too late to include that informa- tion in the Regulations Digest. As you indicated, the Regula- tions Digests are already in the hands of license agents and the dates, shooting hours and bag limits for doves have just recent- ly been set. As was the case last year, this fall’s dove hunting season will be split, but it will be a three-way rather than two-way split season, allowing for a week of dove hun- ting over the Thanksgiving ‘Holidays, this year. The first portion of the scason opens on Saturday, September 1 and extends through September 29. Shooting hours during this portion of the season are froom noon until sunset. Hunting will be allowed all day in the second portions of the season, which will run from November 17-24 and from December 14 through Turn To Page 5-A Save 50% TI lL 2 wL i § SFY ae Tats, JEANSWEAR oul 10% 2 Now Thru Saturday ; MEN’S LEVI’S: ON DISCONTINUED 1983 Straight Leg Unwashed Denim ...................0........ ohianae Reg.2000 Sale 12.99 .
