Service projects and fund- ‘raisers are underway by the alumni and local people who have graduated from Cleveland Tech or completed at least one quarter at Tech are invited to join and be active in the pro- gram. According to Jim Howell, of Kings Mountain, who is parliamentarian for the associa- tion, Cleveland Technical Col- lege Alumni is part of the North Carolina Comprehensive Com- munity College Student Govern- ment Association and serves as a support group for the 58 member schools. Howell said a recent “roast” in Raleigh raised $1500 for the N.C. Community College Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. Howell said it is the aim of the group to provide- a scholarship from each of the 58 member schools to a deserving student. CTC Alumni will meet on Aug. 9th at 7, p.m. at the Student Service Area at Cleveland Tech in Shelby to make plans for Alumni Day, to discuss a membership campaign and to make plans for the 20th anniver- sary celebration of Cleveland Technical College. Homecoming Sunday Grover Church of God will hold Homecoming Day on Sun- day, Aug. 12th, with covered dish luncheon on the grounds at 1 pm. Rev. Randy Warren will be visiting evangelist for a week of revival services Aug. 12-19th for services at 7- p.m. nightly. Rev. Barry Dellinger, a member of the Squad, gave the monthly report which included 41 house calls, five blood relays, 29 transports, 37 emergency calls, response to 12 wrecks involving 15 personal injuries, six people dead on arrival, three people pin- ned cars, and stood by at the scene and provided assistance for other agencies.
