KM Students Named To GC Dean’s List Dallas...Gaston College students named to the 1984 sum- mer quarter honor lists have been announced. Students achieving the President’s Honor List are automatically on the Dean’s List by virtue of their 4.000 averages. Orchestra Schedules Auditions On Monday BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.-Auditions for the prospec- tive new members of the Gardner-Webb College LCom- munity Orchestra will be held Monday, Sept. 3, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in room 105 of the col- lege’s O. Max Gardner building. Anyone who plays a standard orchestra instrument is invited to audition, said Dr. Robert Decker, GW music professor and orchestra conductor. Or- chestra members may obtain col- lege credit by enrolling at Gardner-Webb, Decker said. There is membership. Concerts will be held on Mon- day evenings-Nov. 19, Feb. 25, and April 29. The first full rehearsal will be Monday even- ing Sept. 10. The concerts are open to the public at no charge. Gardner-Webb is a liberal arts college affiliated with the Baptist State Convention of N.C., offer- ing associate, bachelor and master’s degrees. The college is noted for its independence of federal funding. no charge for Ammons To Give Senior Vocal Recital BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—-Jeane Ammons, a music education major at Gardner- Webb college, will give a senior vocal recital Tuesday, Sept. 4. The performance will be held at 8 p.m. at the college’s Dover Chapel. It is open to the public at no charge. A sporano, Mrs. Ammons will perform slections by Mozart, Puccini, and Wolf. She will be accompanied by Sherry Lieurance on piano. Mrs. Ammons is the. wife of James Ammons of Union Mills, and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Watson of Ruther- fordton. She is a secretary of the Music Educators National Con- ference, a member of the American Choral Directors Association, and a member of the Gardner-Webb College’s Chamber Chorus. Mrs. Ammons is a graduate of R.S. Central High School.
