Luncheon Honors Cathy Aunts of the bride-elect honored Miss Cathy McDaniel, bride elect, at a miscellaneous bridal shower August 10 at 7 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church Chapel. Entertaining together were Mrs. Jo Sellers, Mrs. Helen McDaniel, Mrs. Lib McDaniel, Mrs. Ruth Sanders, Mrs. Helen Roberts and Mrs. Orangel McDaniel. The refreshment table, highlight of decoration, was overlaid with white lace cloth and arranged with a five-branch candelabrum set with pink tapers and pink and lavender silk flowers. The windows of the Chapel were decorated with Cindy Swofford Honored At Miscellaneous Shower Miss Cindy Swofford, bride- elect, was honored Friday even- ing at a miscellaneous bridal shower at the Fellowship Hall of El Bethel United Methodist Church. ; Thirty guests called during the evening and presented the bride- to-be with gifts for her new home. Miss Swofford was presented a shoulder corsage to wear with her orchid party dress. Hostesses were Edna Gantt, Marie Gantt, Ronda Gantt, An- nette Ross, Joyce Beam, Myrtle Greene, Linda McPearson, Sara Foster, Marie McKay, Diane Blanton, Faye Swofford, Melissa Swofford and Janet Swofford. A color theme of pink and white featured decorative details and refreshments. A miniature bride and bridegroom figurine centered the gift table which was also arranged with Fall colors. Champagne toasts were made to the bride-elect by various members of the bridal party. Miss Harrell took the occasion to present her gifts to her wed- ding attendants. Mr. and Mrs. George H. Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel R. Harrell hosted the rehearsal din- ner on Friday evening. Lail of Kings Mountain, Mrs. Gloria Gordon of Kings Mountain, Mrs. Ann Midview Midview Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming Day Sunday with special services. Picnic dinner will be spread at Robinson of Gastonia and Mrs. Gail Moss of Conway, S.C. The 20 guests included the bridal party, including the bridesmaids, honorary bridesmaids and child atten- dants, and Mrs. Clyde McDaniel, mother of the bride- elect; Mrs. Mylie Huffstetler, grandmother of the bride-elect; Mrs. Jack Moore, Jr., mother of the bridegroom-to-be, and Mrs. James Cole, grandmother of the bridegroom-to-be. Guests found their places at tables decorated with mixed floral arrangements and place cards of tiny grapevine wreaths. Candles, magnolias and other ar- rangements of mixed flowers were used throughout the house. Miss McDaniel took the occa- sion to present her gifts to her bridal attendants. Homecoming Sunday 1 p.m. and a song service, featur- ing the Golden Chords of Woodruff, S.C. and the Trutone Quartet of Greer, S.C., will be featured at 2 p.m. Members, former members and friends are invited to par- ticipate in the activities of the day.
