a AEE 4 ‘OBITURRIES MRS. BESSIE HICKS GROVER - Mrs. Bessie Boheler Hicks, 83, of Carolina Avenue, Grover, died Saturday at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. A native of Cherokee County, S.C., she was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Cobb Boheler and the wife of the late Warren S. Hicks, : She is survived by one son, Warren S. Hicks Jr. of Charlotte; three daughters, Lois Gold and Martha Turner, both of Grover, . and Dorothy Haga of Annadale, Va.; one brother, Nelson Boheler of Gaffney, S.C.; two sisters, Lillie Mae Rollins of Grover and Letha McMillan of Winston-Salem; eight grand- children and five great- grandchildren. Services were conducted Mon- day at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church by Dr. Bobby Gantt and the ‘Rev. Harold Hutchinson. Burial was in Grover Cemetery. NED McGILL Funeral services for Ned Alex- ander McGill, 63, of Gastonia, former resident of Kings Moun- tain, were held Sunday after- noon from First ARP Church of Gastonia of which he was a member. Rev. Harry T. Schutte officiated at the rites and inter- ment was in Gaston Memorial - Park. Mr. McGill died Friday in Gaston Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Tholms Pressley and Elizabeth Harmon McGill and his wife was the late Alice Smith McGill. Surviving are his daughter, Carolyn M. McRainey of Gastonia; sister, Martha F. Weir of Jacksonville, Fla. and a grand- daughter. McLean & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ANGILEEN WHITWORTH Funeral services for Angileen Whitworth, 75, of West Orange, N.J., sister of Eleane Earl and Cleo Wilson of Kings Mountain, were conducted Sunday after- noon from Washington Baptist Church of Waco, interment following in the church cemetery. Mrs. Whitworth was the widow of James D. Whitworth and was daughter of the late John C. and Eliza Oates Roberts of Cleveland County. Also surviving are her son, Benjamin D. Whitworth of East Orange; three brothers, Eria and Theodore Philadelphia and Edney Roberts of Shelby; four sisters, Gertrude Howell and Verline Roseboro of ‘Waco and Allie Howell and Mary Lee Wilson of Shelby; five grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. She was a licensed beautician and a member of Union Baptist Church and Deaconess Board of Montclair, N.J. McKinney’s Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. .
