The annual Kings Mountain
Community-Wide Thanksgiving
Service will be held this year at
Boyce Memorial ARP Church.
- The host pastor, Rev. Bill
Tyson, extends a word of
welcome to anyone interested in
participating.
This annual event is always
held on the Wednesday night
before Thanksgiving, and this
year will be on November 21 at
7:30 p.m. ;
Anyone interested in singing
in a community choir should ar-
rive by 6:45 p.m. Please wear the
respective robe of your con-
gregation.
Speaker this year for the
Thanksgiving service will be
Rev. Jessie Bailey of the
Macedonia Baptist Church.
This event is sponsored by the
- Kings Mountain Interdenomina-
tional Pastor’s Conference.
~~ There will be an offering
received that night to assist in
the local food bank that is sup-
ported by this local clergy group.

The board accepted flower
bulbs from the Open Gate
Garden Club to beautify: Kings
Mountain Parking Plaza and ap-
proved resolution to seek state
maintenance of the Boy Scout
Camp Road by authorizing a let-
ter to the N.C. Department of
Transportation requesting that
Boy Scout Camp Road be added
to the state system for
maintenance but stating
assurances that responsibility for
impoundment of Davidson
Lake, any damage that may
result from and maintenance of
the dam, or appurtances, shall re-
main with the City of Kings
Mountain.
The board amended municipal
trust agreements and approved
petitions for street im-
provements, curb and gutter,
from Lee Street to Southwood
Street and from Lee Street to
Fulton Street to end of street.
Gaston
Registering
DALLAS, N.C....Gaston Col-
lege is now registering for the
winter quarter. Many courses
are offered for the winter quarter
in a wide variety of interests.
Students are encouraged to
register as soon as possible.
Registration dates are from
now until November 21, from
8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. On
November 26 students may
register from 8:30 a.m. until 7:30
p.m. Late registration is on
November 28 and November 29 '
from 8:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
The last day for registration is
Friday, November 30 from 8:30
a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Winter quarter classes begin
on Wednesday, November 28.
In order to register, students
should apply at the Admissions
Office in the Myers Center. For
. further information call the Ad-
missions Office at 922-3136, Ex-

Vandalism, Larcenies Reported By Police
A rash of vandalism and
larcenies occurred in the Kings
Mountain area during the
weekend, according to Kings
Mountain Police Department
reports.
Jerry Watts, 407 Cherokee
St., reported larceny of car radio
valued at $230.
Charles Amos \ Terry, 810
First St., reported damage to
vehicle estimated at $100. A
window on the driver’s side of
the car was smashed.
Debroah West, 105 E. Moun-
tain St., reported the theft of her:
pocketbook taken from her car.
James Parker, 903 Second St.,
reported theft of an automobile
tag. The tag number is EWP
