Completes Course Sgt. Robert H. Payne, son of Betty C. Payne of Bessemer City has completed a U.S. Army primary leadership course at Fort Bragg, N.C. Students received training in supervisory skills, leadership principles and small unit training techniques essential to a first-line supervisor in a technical or ad- ministrative environment. Payne is an infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division. He is a 1979 graduate of Bessemer City High School. Lowrance Promoted Charles K. Lowrance, son of Charles R. and Brenda F. Lowrance of Rural Route 1, Grover, has been promoted in the U.S. Air Force to the rank of airman first class. Lowrance is an aircraft maintenance crew chief with the 2nd Organizational Maintenance Squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base, La. He is ‘a 1979 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School. The Daven- ports . hosted the group for dessert and fellowship. Decorated with traditional tree, garlands, holly and stock- ings, the home proved the perfect place to share the Christmas spirit. The guests en- joyed the finger foods prepared by Mrs. Davenport. The Session/Diaconate Christmas dinner party has become a tradition at the Long Creek Church.
