The Bullet Busters Fund
hopes to raise at least $8500 to
purchase bullet proof vests for
the 35 members of the Cleveland
County Sheriff’s Department, in-
cluding reserve officers. Chick
Filet, one of the sponsors for the
telethon, will give a $2.50 dona-
tion for each $5.00 purchase of
food during the 30 hour opera-
tion and will have Chick Filet
open the entire time. The Mall
will also be open for 30 hours
during the promotion and
citizens will be invited to visit
the headquarters for the benefit
and talk to the radio per-
sonalities in their “jail cells.”
“The Bullet Busters benefit is.
a real need for Cleveland County
officers,” said Bob Davis, who
said that since the shooting of a
Shelby police officer recently
