Notice is hereby given that the City of Kings Mountain, Community Development
Department will, on May 7, 1985 2:00 p.m. at the Governmental Services Facilities
Center (New City Hall Council Chambers) receive sealed proposals for the purchase and
development of the following described real estate located in the Community
Redevelopment Area, Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Mark Envelope: Sealed Bid For
Purchase Of Property. :
The properties on which bids will be received are as follows:
1. Parcel No. 19 located North of intersection of Railroad Avenue and West Mountain
Street containing 28,173 square feet more or less.
2. Parcel No. 73 located approximately 350 feet North of the intersection of West Moun-
tain Street and South City Street containing 23,150 square feet more or less.
3. Parcel No. 29 located on the north side of West King Street approximately 300 feet
West of intersection of Watterson and King Street containing 33,348 square feet more or

4. Parcel No. 28 located on the West side of Watterson Street approximately 300 feet
North of intersection of West King and Watterson Streets. (Single family lot)
5. Parcel No. 27 located on the West side of Watterson Street approximately 400 feet
North of intersection of West King and Watterson Streets. (Single family lot)
Note: All parcels subject to confirmation by survey and matters of zoning.
Terms of Sale:
Property will be sold to the Highest Responsible Bidder subject to certain conditions
prescribed by the Governing Body. :
1. Buyers will be required to start construction within a specified period of time after con-
veyance of property.
2. Governing Body will have approval right of preliminary and Final Plans.
3. Governing Body will reserve right to reject bids and to waive technicalities.
Redeveloper may be any person, firm or corporation who has qualified and agrees to
conform in all respects with provisions of bidding documents.
Proposals for redevelopment will be evaluated on the basis of the bid price on the land,
and the total development proposal, which, with due respect to the general public
welfare and proper development of the community will result in the greatest assessed
valuation of ad valorem taxation, the greatest beneficial effect on neighboring property,
the project area, and the community as a whole, and will tend to induce the greater in-
vestment in the development of other property in the area.
Proposals shall contain preliminary plans and specifications, including type of construction and
materials to be used.
Proposals shall be accompanied by a good faith deposit in an amount equal to ten (10)
percent of the bid price, said deposit being in form of a certified check drawn on a bank
or Trust Company authorized to do business in North Carolina or on a bank insured by
the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation payable to the City of Kings Mountain.
The City of Kings Mountain reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive
any irregularities in bidding.
