Royce Ballew and Rev. David Cof- fey, interment following in Cherryville’s City Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Hallman died Sunday at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville. She was a Gaston County native, daughter of the late Steven Decator and Ellen Agatha Ballard Hayes and the wife of the late John Meek Hallman. She was retired from Howell Manufacturing Co. of ~ Cherryville. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth D. Hallman of Cher- ryville and Bob Hallman of Kings Mountain; a sister, Roberta H. Hallman of Cher- ryville; and four grand- children. BUDDY MONTGOMERY Graveside services for Ronald (Buddy) Mon- tgomery, 42, of 1820 Hemlock Avenue, Gastonia, who died Monday in N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, will be conducted Thursday morning at t1 a.m. from An- tioch Baptist Church Cemetery near Grover. Rev. Harry Hand will of- ficiate at the rites. Surviving are his mother. Mrs. Oberia Montgomery Hastings: three brothers. Gary Montgomery, Dennis Montgomery, and James Montgomery, and one sister. Mrs. Marilyn Mulkey. all of Gastonia. THEODORE SIMMONS Funeral services for Theodore Simmons, 53, of 708 Canterbury St., who died Sun- day in Cleveland Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. from Em- manuel Baptist Church by Rev. S.H. Barber, interment following in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mr. Simmons was a native of New York City, a self employed electrical contrac- tor, a veteran of the Korean War and a member and Sl Lions Clubs To Name Citizen Of The Year The Lions Clubs of Cleveland County are acc- peting nominations for Cleveland County Citizen of the Year. : A nominee should be a resi- dent of Celveland County whose contribution or ser- vices were performed during the 12 months ending April 30. Selection is made on the following six-point basis: contribution to community welfare during the year, par- ticipation in all-around com- munity activities, evidence of lasting contribution to com- munity activities, exhibition of leadership ability, evidence of personal or business progress and cooperation with individuals and civic organizations. Any club or individual in Cleveland County can nominate a person for the award. Mrs. Lanier was the daughter of the late Joseph Clifford and Annie Lively Fields. Surviving are two sons, Bobby Ray Setzer, Jr. of Bel- mont and Donald Carl Setzer of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Ann Jones of Gastonia; two sisters, Priscilla Hunter of Kings Mountain and Janie Eames of Cheraw, S.C., 13 grand- children and 15 great-- grandchildren. ANDERSON HAYES Funeral services for Anderson Devirn (Shady Boy) Hayes, 59, of Shelby, who died Thursday in Cleveland Memorial Hospital, were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from Beaver Dam Baptist Church by Dr. Paul Sorrells; inter- = ‘ment following in Rose Hill Memorial Park. A Cleveland County native, he was retired from Winston Mobile Homes, where he had been employed as a sheet metal worker. He was a member of Beaver Dam Bap- tist Church and the C.B: Club. He was the son of the late Revis and Ola Clary Hayes. Survivors include his wife, Sara Nell Dellinger Hayes; a son, Anderson D. Hayes, Jr. of the home; two daughters, Dianne Smith of Brigantine, N.J. and Sandra Watkins of Ardmore, Tenn., two brothers, Voyde Hayes of Kings Mountain and Edward Hayes of Cherryville; five sisters, Ruth Bowen and Carolyn Kiser of Kings Moun- tain, Kathrine Arrowood and Jean Arrowood of Shelby and Jenette Arrowood of Cher- ryville, and four grand- children. MUSGRAVE SALISBURY - William Cecil Musgrave, 70, of 1208 North Piedmont Avenue, Kings Mountain, formerly of Salisbury, died Thursday at 2:45 a.m. following five mon- ths of declining health. He was a native of Knox- ville, Tn., and was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transporta- tion. He also worked with Ford Motor Company and Southern Railway and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. His wife, the former Poniese Randall, died on January 17, 1981. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jerrie Cates of Kings Mountain and Mrs. Suzanne Leach of Lenoir; two brothers, G.E. Musgrave and L.E. Musgrave, both of Knox- ville, Tn.; three sisters, Mrs. Della Underwood of South Venice and Mrs. Nancy Faber and Mrs. Ruth George, both of Nokomis, Fla; and three grandchildren. Services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lyerly Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jesse Bailey of Kings Mountain. Burial was in City Memorial Park.
