Page 8B-KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Thursday, June 13, 1985 Tom Gilbert Named Director Of Marketing Tom Gilbert has joined Associated Electro-Medical Services of Stallings, N.C. as Director of Marketing, The Kings Mountain man was previously a. sales representative for several years with American Scien- tific Products, Evanston, Ill. A.E.S. Inc. began in 1973 as TOM GILBBERT a service company for the Technician SMA TM in- strumentation. From the beginning, the company goal was to offer top quality ser- vice at reasonable prices, said Gilbert. While the scope of service has broadened to include instrumentation manufactured by other com- panies, the simple goal has remained, he said. Gilbert is the son of Mrs. Ethel Gilbert of Kings Moun- tain and the late Tom L. Gilbert. He is married to the former Jane Byars of Kings Mountain, who is employed by Kings Mountain Eye Clinic. The Gilberts are parents of three children: Jeff Gilbert of Lowell, Mrs. Leann Ramsey of Gastonia and Jamie Gilbert, a West School student. They are ac- tive in First Baptist Church. KM Students On G-W’s Dean’s List "The deans list for the Gardner-Webb College 1985 spring semester has been an- nounced. Included on the list are 131 students from throughout North Carolina as ~ well as several out-of-state students. To be eligible for this academic honor, students enrolled for a minimum of 12 ~ semester hours and fewer than 15 semester hours must * have a 4.0 quality point ratio. Students enrolled for 15 hours or more must have a 3.7 or . better quality point ratio with no grade below C. Gardner-Webb ‘is a liberal arts college affiliated with the Baptist State Convention of N.C., offering associate, bachelor and master’s degrees. The college is noted for its independence of federal funding. Local students named to: the dean’s list are: Donna Lee McDaniel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John D. I Le a Ee i TRY Summer BY: ROSE TURNER Indiana Jones, starring in “Raiders Of The Lost Ark” will open the summer Show Time series on June 18 at the Mauney Memorial Library. Show Time will feature full length science fiction movies in conjunction with the Sum- mer Reading Club. Other movies include ‘‘Starman,” ‘‘Flash Gordon,’’ ‘‘The ‘Neverending Story,” ‘The Wrath of Khan,’and others. All movies are rated PG (parental guidance), and will be shown at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons throughout the summer. In addition to the movies, the Summer Reading Club Karen Graduates Gaston Karen Roper of Kings Mountain was pinned during the recent Gaston College Medical Assisting Program Pinning Ceremony. Donna Sue Mauney of Cher- ryville received the Outstan- ding Graduate Award. Sixteen students were pinn- ed during the graduation ceremonies at which Mrs. Betty Jones, RN, CMA, Director of Medical Assisting at the College, was guest speaker.
