Haynes keyed the five-run ninth inning which lifted Post 155 over Hickory Wednesday night. Post 155 trailed 7-4 go- ing into the inning. Haynes and Phillips led the KM plate attack with three hits each ‘and Franklin, Go- ‘ble, Stewart and Paul Neisler added one each. Neisler started on the mound for KM and was relieved in the fourth by Alan Upchurch who held Hickory to three hits the rest of the way and picked up the win. Neisler drove in KM’s first run in the second on a single. Franklin, who singled to lead off the inning and moved to third on a single by Goble, scored. Kings Mountain added two more in the third on singles by Phillips and Haynes and a pair of Hickory errors. Post 155 cut the margin to 7-4 in the seventh when Breakfield reached on an error and later scored on a single by Haynes. Hokk Post 155 collected only five hits in Friday’s loss to Cher- ryville. Boheler led the way with 2-for-3 and Franklin, Phillips and Breakfield add- ed one each. Kings Mountain had run- ners in scoring position. in each of the first three innings but couldn’t score. Cher- ryville pitcher David Hinley toughened up after that and allowed only two baserunners the rest of the way while striking out seven. Tommy Batchler started for KM and took the loss. He was relieved in the fifth by Rusty Bumgardner. FER The KM bats were silenced again Saturday at Shelby as Post 155 managed only three hits off Wayne Lewis. Phillips, Breakfield and McDaniel had one hit apiece. McDaniel started for Kings Mountain and was relieved in the eighth by Upchurch. FHok Post 155 scored all four of its runs in the third inning Monday night against Forest City. That tied the game at 4:all but; Forest; City. picked up a run in the top of the fourth to take the lead for good. : Phillips, Gold and Batchler led the KM hitting with two hits each and Breakfield, Franklin, Boheler and Stewart added one each. Post 155 sent nine batters to the plate in the third. Stewart and Gold supplied singles and Phillips and Boheler had doubles to go along with two Forest City errors. Batchler started for Post 155 and was relieved in the se- cond by Bumgardner. He was relieved in the seventh by Neisler. \ WOMEN’S CHAMPS - Parker’s Amaco won the KM Women’s League title this year with a 12-0 record. Back row, onaldson, Brenda Williams, Lee Ann Gann, Wanda Sam- Parker’s Wins Women’s Title Parker’s Amaco won two more games last week to finish regular season in the Women’s Softball League with a perfect 12-0 record. Parker’s won the city title by six games over Kinmont, which finished 6-6. Cable Link was 5-7 and Clevemont 1-11. In action last week, Parker’s defeated Clevemont 9-4 and Cable Link 10-3. Kin- mont blanked Cable Link 10-0 and defeated Clevemont 14-3, and Clevemont outscored Cable Link 16-14. Diane Mullinax hurled both wins for Parker’s. Against Clevemont, Susan Hartsoe was 3-for-4 and Mullinax and Cheryl Leach were 2-for-4 each. Becky Myers was 2-for-3 and Linda Moss 1-for-2 for Clevemont. Betty Mills was the losing pitcher. Against Cable Link, Kim Moss, Lea Ann Gann and Brenda Williams led Parker’s with 2-for-3 each. Leslie Hamrick was 2-for-3 for the losers and Dee Patter- son was losing pitcher. Mary Ann White, Rhonda Cooper and Linda Wilson led the hitting as Kinmont blank- ed Cable Link. Lisa Byers was the winning pitcher and Dee Patterson took the loss. Mary Ann White went 3-for-4, ‘including two home runs, to lead Kinmont over Clevemont. Lisa Byers was the winning pitcher and Betty Mills was the loser. Betty Mills hurled the win in Clevemont’s victory over Cable Link. Dee Patterson was the loser.
