awarded 1985-86 Herbert
Worth Jackson scholarships
to attend the University of
North Carolina at Chapel
Hill.
Recipients are Thomas
Shane Barnes of Bessemer
City, Laura Gail Bradshaw of
Connelly Springs, Janet
Elaine Ritter of West End
and Alice Wilson Thomas of
Southern Pines.
Barnes, a graduate of
Kings Mountain Senior High
School, is the son of Thomas
Dixon Barnes of 304 E. Ten-
nessee Ave., Bessemer City
and Lynn Barnes Wooten of
805 Lee St., Kings Mountain.
Bradshaw, the daughter of
Hobert and Relma Bradshaw
of Route 2, Connelly Springs,
is a graduate of East Burke
High School in Icard.
Ritter is the daughter of
Stacy Glenn Ritter of Route 1,
West End, and Wanda Faye
Ritter of West End and is a
graduate of Pinecrest High
School in Southern Pines.

daughter of Gerald D.

Creek Road, Fayetteville,
and Louise N. Thomas of 9
Holly Lane, Southern Pines.
At KMHS, Barnes was in
the top ten of his sophomore,
junior and senior classes,
carrying a 3.5 or higher grade
point average. He was a
member of the Beta Club and
National Honor Society and
was in the Senior High Mar-
ching Band, Concert Band

1886 UNC graduate.
Members of the Jackson
family recently have sup-
plemented the scholarship.
