Dinner Party Honors Couple
Susan Martin Beard and
Robert Sommers Maner were
honored Friday night, June
28th, at a beautifully ap-
pointed dinner party at
Gaston Country Club.
Entertaining together were
Mr. and Mrs. Charles An-
drew Neisler, aunt and uncle
of the bridegroom-elect, and
Lee Sommers Neisler, cousin
of the bridegroom-elect.
Pastel rainbow shades of
Delphinium, Dianthus, and
Columbine were used in
crystal hurricane goblets on
each of the 14 tables set up for
seating of the 130 guests, Mat-
ching arrangements were us-
ed on the mantel and table in
the entrance room. Chinese
evergreen plants decorated
the chests and credenzas in
the club reception rooms. The
rainbow motiff was enhanced
in. the napkins and linens on
the tables.
Music was presented by
Wendall Smith on the Grand
piano during the evening.
The menu included pork
roast, flounder filet, apples,
beans, slaw, potatoes, apple
salad, macaroni and cheese,
dessert and fresh fruit ‘and
petit-fours.

Pioneer Girl Scout Council
will host a week-long summer
special, ‘‘Center Stage’ from
July 29 to August 2 in Kings
Mountain.
The week will be filled with
evening drama, make up,
costuming, and’ lighting as

and last until 2 p.m.

wear comfortable clothes.
