ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED—Dr. and Mrs. Milton M.
Hagen of Kings Mountain announce the engagement of their
daughter, Kristen Jean, to Randolph Herman Harry, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Forrest Harry of Route 1, Moycock, N.C.
The bride-elect is a 1980 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior
High School, a 1982 graduate of Gaston College and a 1985
graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
with B.S. in psychology. She is a member of Psi Chi, National
Psychology Honor Society, and Wesley Foundation. The
bridegroom-to-be is a 1981 graduate of the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill with B.A. in Political Science and
Economics where he was a Morehead Scholar. He is a
member of Chi Psi Fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega Service
Fraternity, Order of the Grail, Order of the Golden Fleece,
and a member of the North Carolina and Virginia Bar
Association. He is a 1984 graduate of the UNC School of Law
and is an associate in the law firm of Howell, Daughterty,
Brown and Lawrence, Norfolk, Va. The wedding will take
place Avg. 10 in Kings Mountain's Grace United Methodist
Church.

Mrs. Wendy McAbee was
her cousin's matron of honor
and Jo Ann Carmichel, sister
of the bride, and Tina
Hollifield, both of Kings
Mountain, were bridesmaids.
The three attendants wore
rainbow colored formals, the
matron of honor in blue and
other attendants in light blue
and pink. They carried mat-
ching bouquets.
Penny Dobbins, niece of the
bridegroom kept the bride’s
register. Frankie Dobbins,
nephew of the bridegroom,
distributed wedding scrolls.
Best man for the
bridegroom was Bill Holland
of Morganton.
Ushers were Dennis Bryant
of Galax, Va. and Gary
Hollifield of Kings Mountain.
The reception after the
ceremony was hosted by the
bride’s mother, Mrs. Joyce
Dobbins, assisted by Mae
Metcalf, aunt of the bride,
and Wendy McAbee, cousin
of the bride. The pink and
white tiered wedding cake
was central highlight of the
bride’s table which was
overlaid with lace over pink
cloths and decorated in the
rainbow theme of the wed-
ding. :
The bride’s mother chose a
blue polyester dress with
sheer long sleeves and
pleated skirt and a white cor-
sage.
The bridegroom’s mother
chose a peach knee-length
dress with sheer sleeves and
a white shoulder corsage.

fellowship hall of the church
at a reception hosted by the
bride’s parents. The aqua
and white theme of the wed-
ding was featured in
decorative details. Mrs. Nell
Henry of Shelby cut and serv-
ed the cake and Mrs. Barbara
Knight of Tar Heel, N.C,
served punch. !
Mr. and Mrs, Sam
McDonald of Shelby are
parents of the bride who is a
graduate of Burns Senior
High School and Appalachian
State University. She is
employed by the Iredell
County Department of Social
Services. She is the grand-
daughter of Mrs. A.M.
McDonald of Fayetteville.
Linda Bledsoe of
Statesville presided at the
register.
Mr. and Mrs. F.E.
Richards of Shelby are
parents of the bridegroom
who is the grandson of Mrs.
Lorene Kerr of Houston,
Texas. He is a graduate of
Batesville . High School,
Batesville, Ark., and attend-
ed Arkansas College, East
Texas State University and
Cleveland Technical In-
stitute. He is employed by
Edwards Construction Com-
pany.

ment for primary students

at Kings Mountain Senior
High School. She is the grand-
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pat
I. Watson of Johnson City,
Tenn.
The bridegroom is the son
of Mrs. Clyde Mull and the
late Robert James Dobbins of
Morganton. He is a graduate
of Crest High School and
Cleveland Technical College
and is employed by Copeland
of Shelby. He served three
years in the U.S. Army. He is
the grandson of Mrs. Ethel
Green of Boiling Springs.
The newlyweds are at
home on Route 2, Triple C

hosted the rehearsal party on
Tuesday night at Second Bap-
tist Church Fellowship Hall.
