One of the players for the West squad will be Teresa Bowlin of South Point, who is headed to Furman on a basketball scholarship. Fk The Tryon Invitational Softball Tournament will be played August 2-3 at the Gaston County Park near Tryon School. The event is open to all area Class D and Church League foams, Entry fee is $75 and two ASA Blue Dot restricted soft- alls. The two home run rule will be in effect. Hk Allen Holiday won the singles title and Leonard Smith and Jimmy Camp took doubles honors in the annual Fourth of Ju- ly Horseshoe Tournament at Commissioners Park. Smith finished second in singles competition and Phillip Wood was third. : Smith and Camp defeated Lamar Fletcher and Wood in the doubles championship. Third place went to D. Pearson and James Smith. CAN'T BELIEVE IT - Gene Timms looks on in disbelief after missing a putt in last week’s KMCC Member-Guest. Timms and Kyle Milner shot a 149 to win the second flight. OLDEST GOLFER IN TOURNEY - Pop Foster, popular employee and golfer at Kings Mountain Country Club, putts for a birdie on the 18th hole in Saturday’s opening round of the Member-Guest Golf Tournament.
