Broyhill’s view, the Textile
and Apparel Trade Enforce-
ment Act is “important to
this nation’s economy as well
as to more than two million
textile and apparel
employees across the
nation.”
Broyhill was joined at the
Senate hearing by Senator
Jesse Helms (R-NC), Ninth
District Congressman Alex
McMillan, and by South
Carolina Senators Strom
Thurmond and Ernest Holl-
ings.
The Textile and Apparel
Trade Enforcement Act has
been co-sponsored by a ma-
jority of the members of both
the Senate and the House of
