Cleveland Tech Tour Schedule Announced
Cleveland Technical Col-
lege’s educational tours to be
‘offered ' during. 1985-86: are
trips to Raleigh, Whitesburg,
Kentucky, Old. Salem, New
“York. City, and. Clemson
University.
". The overnight tour to
Raleigh on:Sepiember. 28-29
-will provide a taste of the life,
culture, history, and tradition
of North Carolina’s capital ¢i-
ty. Highlights include tours of
“Mordecai Historic Park, the
“Museum of ‘History, the
Museum of Art, the Oakwood
-~ Historic . District, the State
~ Legislative ‘Building and
Capitol, and: the NC: State
University. campus. The tour
cost is $94 per person; which
includes round trip . motor:
coach fare, . hotel accom-
modations (double occupan-
cy) at the Radisson Plaza, all
“tours, Thompson: Theatre
performance and lunch at the
- NC Museum of Art. Deadline

A three-day, two-night tour
to Appalsho of - Whitesburg,
‘KY is scheduled for October
25-27. Located ‘in: the
coalfields of rural eastern
Kentucky, Appalshop is a
community-based arts and
educational organization,
that documents the history
and ‘culture ' of Appalachia
through the performing arts.
Tour participants will get ac-
fuainted with the Appalshop
staff and their productions at
seminars and preview ses-
sions.’ The tour. cost is $130
per person includes motor-
coach transportation, motel
accommodations (double oc-
cupancy), all Appalshop ses-
sions, ' Carpetbag Theatre
performance, dinner Friday
night and breakfast Sunday
morning. Deadline for paid
reservations is September 13.
The third scheduled tour is
a ‘one-day trip to Winston-

Old Salem and the Museum of
Early Southern Decorative
Arts. Tour highlights include
a guided tour of the Historic
Complex at Old Salem, lunch
at the Salem Tavern, a guid-
ed tour of the MESDA and its
Christmas Open House. The
tour cost is $30 per person and
includes motorcoach
transportation, all tours and
lunch. Deadline for paid
reservations is November 8.
Tours scheduled for 1986
are a three-day theatre tour
to New York City in April and
a July tour to Clemson
University’s Horticultural
Gardens for its annual flower ! 4

Recipes
GREEN BEAN SALAD:
1 can green beans, drained
1 can butter beans, drained
1.can peas, drained
2 or 3 onions, chopped
1 can chopped pimento
Mix all together. Pour the
following mixture over the
vegetables and let stand over
night:
1% cup sugar
1, cup oil
1 cup vinegar

4 cups shredded cabbage
1 large onion, sliced thin’
13 cup vinegar
Ia cup sugar
dash of salt
> tsp. gry mustard
1 tsp. celery seed
5 cup salad oil
Alternate cabbage with
onion. Combine other ingre-
dients in saucepan and heat.
Add oil. While mixture is hot,
pour over cabbage mixture.
Refrigerate 24 hours. Serves

ZUCCHINI-TOMATO SALAD
6 small zucchini, thinly sliced
4 tomatoes cut into wedges
1 green pepper, thinly: sliced
into rings :
1/4 cup chopped green onion
Ys cup vinegar :
1 tsp. salt
1, tsp. garlic salt
15 tsp. pepper
3, cup salad oil
Combine zucchini,
tomatoes, green peppers and
green onions. Toss lightly.
Combine remaining -ingre-
dients . and pour ‘ever
vegetables.
