Mrs. Bell takes up the story of the church: “Long Branch Church has been my dwelling place for 50 years, one of the nicest com- pliments I ever received was, “I hadn’t been nowhere but Long Branch’’ when I thought about it, it was the truth. What ever I am it’s because of the foundation the church stands on, who is my Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ. Through it all, the ups and downs, my parents taught me to belive in Jesus.” “I can remember my first Sunday School teacher, Mrs. Elizabeth Tate. She has gone to be with the Lord now. She always wanted the class to memorize Bible verses. That one that stayed with me was “Be Ye Kind one to Another.” “I joined the church when I was 13 years old and it was then that I gave my heart to Jesus. I just wanted to be like Jesus. I was baptized by Rev. J.T. Dukes. “T’ve Slavs loved working in the church, singing in the Fish Fry Thursday Legionnaires of Post 155 and their wives will enjoy a @ fish fry Thursday, September & 5th, and the Post officers'will § hold a regular meeting after [§ the supper at 7 p.m. Post Commander Pete | Morrow said that all members and their wives are invited to attend and to sign ip renews] and new member- ships. “This will be our first meeting following the na- tional convention and we would like to have a good at- tendance: and a good membership meeting”, said Morrow. j Legion Dance Is Saturday “Looker’’, formerly ‘The Winning Combination,” will play for Saturday night’s American Legion-sponsored dance at the American Legion Buildin Dancing willbe from9p.m. § until 1 a.m. and admission is $10 per couple. “We invite the interested | public to come out and enjoy § said Post 155 Comman Pete Morrow.
