Significant growth is reflected in five programs in- cluding the graduate, Greater Opportunities for Adult Learners (GOAL), fine arts, nursing and com- munications. The graduate program has increased from 122 students in the fall of 1984 to 187 this fall. The figures reflect the Boiling Springs campus as well as the Statesville, Marion and Rockingham campuses. “We’ve been:in Statesville for two years and have the program in the fall of 1984. The communications degree program, in its second year, has also shown growth. Twenty-five students began the program last fall and an additional 21 students have expressed an interest in the degree this fall. “We're very pleased with the interest in this program,” said Dr. Bill Stowe, director of the communications pro- gram. ‘Twenty plus new students exceed our expecta- tions for this year.” West School Paige Colvin Wins Beauty Pageant Honors Paige Colvin, 13-year-old daughter of Jimmy and Renae Colvin of Bessemer Ci- ty, was chosen as the 1985 Miss Carolina Girl Photogenic Winner in the Carolina Girl Beauty Pageant.
