The race is spon- sored by the West School PTO, and will begin and end at West School, 500 W. Moun- tain St. The 5-K and 10-K races will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will be preceded at 8:30 a.m. by a “Mini Fun Run”. The 5-K and 10-K races are designed for regular joggers and is being staged ‘‘by runners, for run- ners’. The Mini Fun Run, though, is intended for children of elementary school age. It will be approximately one fourth mile in length, with streets temporarily blocked for safety. The 5-K and 10-K courses are certified as to distance by American Athletics, who is also providing finish line tim- ing. Registration fee is $6, which includes a race T-shirt to all entrants, including the * winners in each age group in Mini Fun Run. Race sponsor- ship is provided by First Federal S&L. of Kings Moun- tain, First Union National Bank, Sagesport and Jim Testa Chevrolet. Prizes will be awarded to male and female categories.
