Craft, Floral Fair Next Week
Kings Mountain Woman’s
Club members are reading
this week for next Wednes-
day’s “Fallarama’’, the an-
nual crafts fair and floral
fair, to be held from 10 a.m.
until 8 p.m. at the clubhouse
on East Mountain Street.
Both lunch and dinner will
be served featuring turkey
and ham with all the trimm-
ings from 11:30 a.m. until
1:30 p.m. and from 5:30 until
7:30 p.m. in the club dining
room. Tickets are $5 and can
be purchased from Mrs.
Philip Baker, chairman, or
any clubmember or at the
door on Wednesday.
Mrs. Peggy Baird and Mrs.
Linda Dixon, co-chairmen of
the event, say the Fair will be
the biggest and best ever,
with exhibits of crafts, arts,
flowers, horticulture, and a
big Country Store. Various
garden clubs of the city will
present special ar-
rangements in a display be-
ing coordinated by Mrs. Paul
Hendricks, Jr., chairman.

Cane Project for the Blind,
announced that the annual
White Cane Sale will be con-
ducted Thursday, Friday and
Saturday and Lions will be of-
fering the white cane to all
citizens, inviting them to
wear the lapel pin in support
of projects for the blind.
Money raised from the White
Cane Sale is used to benefit
local people.

Wednesday
A lone gunman robbed The
Paniry at Linwood Road and
Cleveland Avenue early last
Wednesday morning, police
said.
According to Det. Sgt.
Richard Reynolds, a man
entered the store about 5:40
a.m., held what appeared to
be a .45 caliber automatic
pistol on the store clerk and
took an undisclosed amount
of money from the cash
register.
The gunman left on foot,
police said.

First Vice President, who is
Vice President of Kings
Mountain’s First Union Na-
tional Bank; Doyle ‘Camp-
bell, Second Vice President,
who is Assistant Manager of
McGinnis Department Store.
New directors are Gene Cox-

Kyle Smith, Dr. Eric Faust,
Charles Neisler and Dr. Mar-
tin Stallings. :
Falls are co-chairmen of the
Country Store, which will of-
fer baked goods, crafts, cann-
ed goods, and many hand-
made items suitable for
Christmas-giving, and Mrs.
Libby Blanton is chairman of
the horticulture division.
School students will present
special school exhibits and
Roxie Trammell and Sandra
Murphrey say the arts and
crafts exhibits expects to be
the biggest and best ever.
Exhibits may be placed at
the Woman’s Club on Tues-
day from 4 until 7:30 p.m. and
on Wednesday morning from
7:30 until 10 a.m. There will
be no prizes given to ex-
hibitors.
