Craft, Floral Fair Next Week Kings Mountain Woman’s Club members are reading this week for next Wednes- day’s “Fallarama’’, the an- nual crafts fair and floral fair, to be held from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the clubhouse on East Mountain Street. Both lunch and dinner will be served featuring turkey and ham with all the trimm- ings from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. in the club dining room. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from Mrs. Philip Baker, chairman, or any clubmember or at the door on Wednesday. Mrs. Peggy Baird and Mrs. Linda Dixon, co-chairmen of the event, say the Fair will be the biggest and best ever, with exhibits of crafts, arts, flowers, horticulture, and a big Country Store. Various garden clubs of the city will present special ar- rangements in a display be- ing coordinated by Mrs. Paul Hendricks, Jr., chairman. Howard, Jr, Kings Mountain Dentist, was installed as the new president of the Kings ountain Kiwanis Club at the regular meeting Oct. 3. Si Dr. Howard represents a second generation of Howards who have served in the civic organization. Dr. Howard's father, Grady Howard, retired ad- ministrator of Kings Moun- tain Hospital, also served the ROTARY SPEAKER ; Rom : p Angeles Rams and club as president. The new president will “outline goals of the new ad- ministrative year at Thurs- day night’s meeting at 6:45 p.m. at the Country Club. Dr. Howard, son of Susie and Grady Howard, resides at 1410 Merrimont Drive with his wife, Linda, and two children, Gray and Alice Ann. According to Det. Sgt. Richard Reynolds, a man entered the store about 5:40 a.m., held what appeared to be a .45 caliber automatic pistol on the store clerk and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. The gunman left on foot, police said.
