celebrated his second birth-
oy at a part iy Feb. 27th.
A “Big Bird” birthday cake
was cut and served with par-

Chad is the grandson of Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Roper and
Mrs. Brenda Wright, all of
Kings Mountain, and Clayton
Wright of Forest City.
Chad’s mother is the

Seaman Recruit David
Brown graduated Jan. 10th
from the Naval Training
Center in Orlando, Fla.
Following his advanced
training at Meridian, Miss.,
he will be stationed at
Oceana, Va.
Brown is the son of Mrs.
Mildred Brown of Kings
Mountain and Grayson
Brown of Cherryville. He is
the grandson of Mrs. Carrie
Sisk of Greenville, S.C.

Senior Airman Ricky E.
White, a member of the 156th
Aeromedical Evacuation
Flight of the N.C. Air Natonal
Guard participated in the an-
nual NATO ‘Return Of Arm-
ed Forces to Germany’
(Reforger) exercise. SRA
White was attached to the 1st
Aeromedical Evacuation
Squadron from Pope Air
Force Base Fayettville, N.C.
and was deployed to Rams-
tein Air Base West Germany.
For two weeks Air Force,
Air National Guard and Air
Force Reserve Aeromedical
Evacuation personnel receiv-
ed tough and realistic train-
ing under tactical conditions
by treating and evacuating
by air over 400 ‘simulated
wounded soldiers.”
Exercises such as Reforger
help to test and evaluate the
ability of the Air Force
Aeromedical Evacuation
System to handl mass
casualties in a war situation.
SRA White is the son of Bet-
ty and Sesko White of Rural
Route 2, Kings Mountain and
is a 1984 graduate of Kings
Mountain Senior High School.
DISTRIBUTION
The March, 1986, distribu-
tion of Surplus Commodities
is scheduled for Thursday,
March 20th, at the Shelby Ar-
mory. Commodities
available are cheese, butter,
milk, honey and rice. The
doors will open at 8:30 and
close at 3:30.

Birthday
Aaron Sellers, son of Mr.
and Mrs. George Sellers, Jr.,
celebrated his fourth birth-
day March 4th.
Fourteen friends enjoyed a
party at Kate’s Skating Rink
Sunday and pizza with all the
trimmings was served.
Aaron’s He-Man decorated
birthday cake was also cut
and served with ice cream.
Grandparents are Mrs.
Alma Sellers and Bill Vickie
Sellers, all of Kings Moun-
tain. Great-grandparents are
Buddy Sellers, Lona Williams
and Alice Allison, all of Kings

and Joe A. Aderholdt of Rural

N.C. has graduated from Air
Force basic training at
Lackland Air Force Base,
Texas.
During the six weeks of
training the airman studied
the Air Force mission,
organization and customs
and received special training
in human relations.
In addition, airmen who
complete basic training earn
credits toward an associate
degree through the Com-
munity College of the Air
Force.
He is a 1985 graduate of
Burns Senior High School,
Lawndale, N.C.
