ALEXANDER We read recently in the Wall Street Journal about a cooperative apartment in New York, bought for $750,000 in 1978, that sold last year for $9 million. Now, that’s appreciation! What did you pay for your house? There’s no saying that its value has jumped as far as that apartment in New York, but you certainly want to get your full equity out. That’s why it’s smart to put your property in the hands of an experienced real estate broker when you sell. Like every professional, we keep up with the news in our field. We watch the prices. We know who's selling what for how much. We see what the current cost of borrowing does to values. Before we put a property on the market, we know what it should bring. The homeowner who tries to sell on his own is lacking that ex- perience and knowhow. It’s not enough to price your house the same as your neighbor’s, who just moved out. What if you have an extra bath? What if he gave the buyer a mortgage? What if the market has moved in the weeks or months since that house sold? Call in the experts for help.
