IME I aaaTYee Myra Jenkins Honored A bridal shower Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Herman Greene on Maner Road honored Miss Myra Jenkins, whose wedding to Michael Dean Spears will take place May 17th in Lutheran Chapel Church of Gastonia. Sharing hostess duties with Mrs. Greene were Mrs. Bill Davis, Mrs. M.C. Pruette and Mrs. Bob Maner. Special guests included ' the bride- elect’s mother, the bridegroom-to-be’s ‘mother, and grandmothers of the engaged pair. Also present were Kevin and Laurie Jenkins, sisters of the bride- elect, who are all brides-elect of the summer season. Pink azaleas and purple iris decorated the Greene home. Flower girls Shatoi Scott and Monique Williams of Kings Mountain, nieces of the bride, wore long white gowns styled like that of the bride with chapel trains and halos in their hair of baby’s breath and roses. Carlos Smith of Kings Mountain and Orlando Williams of Grover, cousins of the bride, carried the rings. Robert Smith, Jr. escorted his mother to the family pew. Mrs. Smith chose a dusty rose formal with wrapped skirt and sequinned ice and a corsage of fuchia roses. Hubert Chamber of Charlotte escorted his sister, Mrs. Lockhart, mother of the bridegroom. She wore a dark blue formal and a corsage of fuchia roses. Miss Yolanda Hines presid- ed at the guest register. Mrs. Debbie W. Crocker directed the wedding. Groomsmen were Tim Bar- tholomew of Orange Station, Larry Caldwell of Rock Hill, S.C., William Lockhart of Blacksburg, S.C., cousin of the bridegroom, Robert Smith, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Ron Smith of New Carrolton, Md., brothers of the bride. Ushers were Hubert Chambers and Richard Chambers, both of Kan- napolis, Aundrea Clark of New Carrolton, Md., Vernon Lockhart of Blacksburg, S.C. cousin of the bridegroom, and Quan Smith of Kings Moun- tain, brother of the bride. Best man was Anthony Kennedy of Charlotte. Acolyte was Eugene Stevenson. The bride’s sister, Robin Arledge, entertained after the ceremony at a beautifully appointed reception at Kings Mountain Depot where the wedding colors of fuchia and white were carried out in decorative details. The bride’s table, highlight of decoration, held the eight tiered pedestal ‘‘stairway’’ wedding cake which was decorated in dusty rose and white and topped with bridal figurines. Mrs. Shirley Barnes cut and served the cake from a table overlaid with white and caught up with ivory and fuchia bows. Centering the long refresh- ment table, also overlaid with white, was a silver five bran- ched candelabrum decorated with candles and flowers in rose and fuchia. Ivory and fuchia bows also decorated the railings leading to the din- ing area of the Depot Center.
