IN SCIENCE CONTEST—These Central School students participated in a Science Egg Con- test recently, dropping eggs from the third floor of the school onto the concrete below without breaking them. Tracy St., was treated for in- juries at the hospital Friday morning at 7:50 a.m. after he apparently darted into the path of a 1973 Van operated y William Navy, 823 First " Street.s There were no charges, ac- cording to investigating Kings Mountain policemen. In a second accident involv- ing a youngster, city police 2oporien that a three-year- old boy apparently knocked his mother’s car out of gear on Bennett Drive Sunday and the car, a 1975 Chevrolet, roll- ed backwards and into a fence owned by Jerry Adams, 21 Bennett Drive, which was damaged $500. The youngster was unhurt, acéording to police. The car was owned by Carolyn Guyton of Gastonia. The acci- dent occurred in the parking lot of Phillips 66 Service Sta- tion on April 30th. David Purdue, 825 Floyd St., operating a 1982 Chevrolet which was damag- ed $200, struck a 1983 Chevrolet operated by San- dra Bryant, Route 4, on Margrace Road on April 30th. Bryant’s car was damaged $300. : A hit and run driver struck a parked vehicle owned by Sandra Caldwell, 115 Rhyne St., Bessemer City, in the parking lot of Harris Teeter. Damages amounted to $400 to the Caldwell 1984 Chevrolet. Jerongela Anne Lackey, 324 Crocker Road, operating - a 1981 Buick which was damaged $200, struck a 1982 GMC owned by Fred Henry Bridges was damages $100. Willis Williams, 503 Watter- son St., was cited for im- proper vehicle equipment and Darrell Warren, 215 N. City St., was cited for follow- ing too close after the colli- sion of Williams’ 1971. Mer- cury and Warren's 1984 Kawasaki motorcycle on Watterson Street May 4th. Damages to the motorcycle were estimated by police at $500.
