Dr. Mayse To Request Pool Money Kings Mountain Indoor Pool Foundation will make its second appeal to the city for $15,000 annually to operate a proposed indoor swimming pool at Kings Mountain Senior High School when the city board holds its May meeting Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. The pool request will be made by Dr. Scott Mayse, president of the Foundation and chairman of the Kiwanis Club steering committee ‘which started the $750,000 fund drive for a natatorium several months ago and has raised over $600,000. Dr. Mayse said that funds from the city will not be needed un- til the Fall of 1988 as con- struction of the pool complex is not anticipated to begin un- til early 1988. The city board, at the April meetings, tabled a request by the Indoor Pool committee for financial assistance and said more information was required. Mayse said the committee needs a financial commitment this far in ad- vance to allow the project to progress. He said the city’s contribution is ‘‘critical”’ to the success of the community wide project and could have a.
