Poppies will be sold by the American Legion Auxiliary Thursday, Friday and Saturday with all benefits going to disabled veterans. Poppy Sale To Begin The annual Poppy Day Sale will begin Thursday, May 22 with members of the Otis D. Green Post 155 selling pop- ies throughout the city to enefit American disabled veterans. The Poppy Sale was kicked off by presenting the first poppy to Mayor John Henry Moss. By ‘‘wear- ing a poppy’ on Poppy Day each American can honor the sacrifices made by our ser- vicemen while assisting the living. The memorial poppy is made by disabled veterans in our V.A. Medical Centers. American Legion Auxiliary members will be distributing the Poppy this Memorial Day Week. The 1986 Unit Miss Poppy is a Junior Auxiliary Member. Softball Tourney Planned The Jones Intercable In- vitational Softball Tourna- ment will be played June 13-15 at the Gaston County Park in Dallas. The event is open to class C and D teams.
