Mr. William McCombs, AARP District Representative from Morganton, will conduct the meeting and assist with chapter formation. Officers will also be elected at the meeting. AARP is the nation’s largest and oldest organiza- tion of over-50 Americans, retired or not. A nonprofit, nonpariisan organization wit over 20 million members, AARP serves its members through legislative representation at both federal and state levels, educational and community service programs and direct membership benefits. Neisler Graduates A Kings Mountain student was one of 310 seniors to graduate from Davidson Col- lege in commencement exer- cises May 25. Lee S. Neisler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Neisler of 700 Lee St., received a Bachelor of Arts in history. Neisler is a graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School. While at Davidson, Neisler was a member of the College Union board and a member of the golf team. He also studied in London. Annie Robbins Award Winner Annie Laura Robbins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Robbins, second grader at East School, won a number of awards during last week’s Awards Day at school com-- mencement. She received a math and reading award, the Kiwanis talent show award and the Good Citizens Award. Miss Robbins’ name was inadvertently omitted from a list of honors students in last week’s Herald. ‘Academic Excellence, Nicole |: 0 = Revonda Earns Scholarship She plans to attend UNC- Greensboro and major in Biology. Revonda Crockett was awarded scholarships from the Gastonia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and The Audacian Club of Shelby. At Kings Mountain High School, Revonda was a member of the National . | Honor Society, Beta Club, Marching Band, Concert Band, and was listed in ‘‘Who’s Who Among American High School Students.” She has been a piano stu- dent at Sacred Heart College music school in Belmont for six years, and church pianist for Kelly’s Chapel United Methodist Church for ten years.
