The fourth an- nual Leaders Advanced Management Program (LAMP), which took place Quilts Will Be Documented The Foothills Quilters Guild will sponsor a quilt documentation day for the public on Saturday, June 28th in the auditorium of the Coun- ty Office Building. Doors will open at 10 a.m. Quilts will be taken in until 2 p.m. This is part of the North Carolina Quilt Project sponsored by the North Carolina Museum of History and the North Carolina Quilt Symposium in an effort to document quiltmakers and quilts presented in North Carolina that were made before 1976. The documentation process will include: measuring, pat- tern identification, recording fabric types, dyes, and infor- mation about the quilt maker. A photograph will also be taken of each quilt. Bring with you the name of the quilter, date and place of birth, date and location quilt was made, etc. This informa- tion and photo of the quilt will be filed in the Museum of History in Raleigh. Bost of Kings Mountain, N.C., has ar- rived for duty with the 126th Transportation Company, Fort Bragg, N.C. Bost is a motor transport operator. REUNION Friends and relatives of Eli Hoke and Jenila Carpenter, will hold a reunion Sunday, June 22, at Club Carolina, Roy Eaker Road, Cher- ryville, beginning at 11:30 a.m. recently in Boston, examined the changing role of the state legislative leader. The program allowed legislators, many of them recently elected to such posi- tions as senate president, house speaker or majority leader, to examine complex management problems they will encounter as they -assume leadership roles in ‘state government. The facul- ty of Boston University’s Public Management Pro- gram led sessions which discussed such topics as leadership styles, time ane gemen) and govern- ment/business relations. ‘Everyone benefits when state government is well managed,” says Hunt. “I found the Leaders Advanced Management Program to be an excellent way to focus on some of the difficult manage- ment issues facing state legislative leaders.” The program is co- sponsored by Boston Univer- sity and the State Legislative Leaders Foundation, a non- profit organization dedicated to strengthening state government. Contributions from major corporations and foundations underwrite most of the costs of the program. Boston University, which also offers advanced management programs to major American corpora- tions, waived the $2,500 tui- tion fee for the legislators. We're in the business of selling insurance.
