City Clerk June 18, 1986¢ PUBLIC NOTICE The City of Kings Mountain, in regular session at 7:30 P.M. on June 10, 1986 adopted the follow- ing amendment to Section 24 Chapter 118 of the Kings Moun- tain Zoning Ordinance. Sec. 24-118. Same—Abandoned vehicles. The city shall have the authori- ty to declare vehicles which are left unaccompanied on any street, highway or private pro- perty for a period of not less than seven (7) days abandoned. If the board of commissioners shall then declare said vehicle to be a health or safety hazard, the city may designate an official to give written notice to the owner, lessee or occupant thereof and fifteen (15) days from said notice shall have the right to go upon said properly and remove said vehicle without the written re- quest of the owner, lessee or oc- cupant. Upon removal of the vehicle, after obtaining posses- |; sion thereof, it shall be the duty of the owner of such vehicle to: pay to the city all reasonable costs incident to the removal, storage and locating the owner of the vehicle. The city ‘shall have the authority to dispose of said vehicle pursuant to state law. (Ord. of 4-21-66, § 1). State law reference—Similar state law, G.S. § 160-200(43).
