Re — OBITURRIES MILDRED JACKSON Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Foster Jackson, 57, who died Tuesday in the Kings Mountain Hospital, were conducted Friday mor- ning at 11 o’clock from Love Valley Baptist Church of which she was a member. Rev. Lloyd Sanders and Rev. Earl Redding officiated at the rites and interment was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mrs. Jackson was daughter . of the late Mr. and Mrs. Noel Foster and was a retired tex- tile employee. Surviving are her husband, William Charles Jackson; three sons, Charles Jackson, James Jackson and Richard Jackson, all of Kings Moun- tain; three daughters, Carolyn Van Dyke and Bren- da Faye Sanders, both of Kings Mountain and Anne Simmons of Lugoff, S.C. and two sisters, Evelyn Bass of Columbia, S.C. and Coleen Jackson of Union, S.C., 13 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. JAKE WILSON Funeral services for Isaac (Jake) Wilson, 79, of Grover, who died Friday at 7:15 p.m. in Community General Hospital of Thomasville, were held Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock from Emmanuel Baptist Church of Thomasville with Rev. Samuel McLendon of- ficiating. Mr. Wilson was born Jul 30, 1907 in Grover. He attend- ed Shiloh AME Zion and St. Peter Baptist Church at an early age and attended Em- manuel Baptist Church after moving to Thomasville. He was a retired employee of Southern Veneer Company of Thomasville. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Louise Tate Wilson; one stepson, John Tate of Colum- bia, S.C., one granddaughter, Mrs. Cheryl D. Taylor of Fort Bragg, and two great! grand- children, of Fort Bragg, two nephews, ‘Lucio Wilson and James Wilson; both of Kings Mountain; five nieces, Mrs. viha Mitchem, Mrs. Ophelia “Watson, both of Kings Moun- .tain, Miss Ossie Mae Wilson of Newton, Mrs. Wilner Thompson of Jacksonville, Fla. and Mrs. Agnes Floyd of Gastonia. i WILLIE McAFEE Funeral services for Willie Mae McAfee, Apt. 49 Chester- field Court, were conducted atlp.m. Tuesday from Kings Mountain Church of God, in- terment following in Green Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Friday morning at home. A native of Cleveland Coun- ty, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Johnson and Mary McCombs, a member of the Burial Aid Society and a member of the Green Bethel Baptist Church in Boiling Springs. Survivors include a son, Mike Lackey, of Charlotte, a niece and a granddaughter. Woman Dies “At KM Depot Isabella Wilson, 78, of Route 1, Mount Holly, ap- parently died of a heart at- tack Friday night as she step- ped off the porch of the Kings Mountain Depot Center dur- ing a thunderstorm. City police officers, who in- vestigated, said Mrs. Wilson was attending a program at the Depot Center and had left the Center to return home when she suffered the attack and died suddenly. EUNICE FORD STEWART Mrs. Eunice Ford Stewart, age 72, of 305 Faulkner St., Clover, S.C. died Thursday, July 24 in the Kings Mountain Convalescent Center. Mrs. Stewart was a native of Cleveland County, a daughter of the late John W. and Nonie Bennett Ford. She was the widow of Lawrence H. Stewart. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Peggy Brown of York, S.C. and Mrs. Carolyn Glenn of Clover, S.C.; three grandchildren; three brothers, Henry Ford and Otto Ford both of Kings Mountain; and Clarence Ford of Bessemer City; three sisters, Mrs. Mozelle Fowler of Kings Mountain and Mrs. Gertrude Hamrick and Mrs. Grace Ciscerano both of Camden, S.C. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26 in the Ramah Presbyterian Church conducted by Revs. Fred Griffie, David Lein- inger and James Simoneau. Burial was in Woodside Cemetery, Clover, S.C. Memorials may be made to the Clover Rescue Squad, Kings Mountain Street, Clover, S.C. 29710. ROBERT ABSHER, SR. Funeral services for Robert Lee Absher, Sr., 61 of Route 2, who died Friday at home, were conducted Sun- day at 3 p.m. from Concord United Methodist Church of which he was a member. Rev. Hayward Morrison of- ficiated at the rites and inter- ment was in the church cemetery. Mr. Absher was a native of Gaston County, son of the late Charlie Clayton and Mamie Catherine Bess Absher. An Smployee of Patterson Oil Co. and a retired employee of Mohican Mills of Lincolnton, he was a member of Cher- ryville American Legion Post 100, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the military police from 1944 to 1945. : : Surviving are his wife, Gladys Wilson Absher; a son, Robert Lee Absher, Jr. of Route 1, Bessemer City; three daughters, Katherine Carpenter of Bessemer City, Rita Clark ‘and Alince Hansell of Kings Mountain; a brother, Evan Absher of Bessemer City; a sister, Margaret Wilson of Route 3, Kings Mountain, and five grandchildren.
