A seven year veteran of the Kings Mountain police force, Sale denied the charges, contending that a fued had developed between him and Oliver, Sr. because Sale had served a warrant on Oliver, Jr. for larceny of gas from his father’s station. Sale had subpoened 25 character witnesses and among the dozen called to the stand were Ci- ty Commissioners Harold Phillips, Fred Finger, Corbet Nicholson and Pete Johnson, owner of East King Gulf Sta- tion. Judge Phillips ruled in the case after almost a full day of testimony from many witnesses and in a crowded cour- troom in Shelby. According to District Court records, judgement in the case included that Sale ‘be of good behaviour and not harass or abuse Jerry Oliver, Sr. or any member of his im- mediate family.” : fm ne ne 3h00 os Present This Coupon To Future Energy Co. 804 W. Many people who signed the pool petition have since questioned the matter as to why this subject was sudden- ly put to death. I feel it’s my obligation to these people to question the matter as to why this was so smoothly put into effect by just a handful of city council members and then board members. These pelliioners will soon be asked again to vote on another matter which is soon to come up. It seems it just doesn’t matter anymore unless they see that someone strives to fight for something that they had no vote on, even though 697 said no. Bring this to a vote on next November or even during the upcoming liquor vote, which I hope for all of you will be a “No” vote again. Many other things are in much needed help besides pools and liquor. If parents could only be put in the light about the school systems, and their problems they would run to see that the school dollars were used for just that, School. = PY red (4 a DEPARTMENT STORE KINGS MOUNTAIN. Wayne Russ say, ‘we're the only town that’s dry that gots plen- ty of water.” John Henry Moss got this water vote to pass 20 years ago and you and he should be remembered for that. I remember and was helping the Mayor when everyone thought it could not be done. Now do us citizens some good by showing that all of us are human, have feelings and deserve our say. At this time this matter could go into the hands of the Attorney General for an in- junction due to the fact of the yn way we have ever deprived of our rights. Please reconsider this rescindation.
