COLE Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Whisnant Cole, 80, of Route 1 who died Sunday at Cleveland Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. from Adams Chapel AME Zion Church with the Rev. Truella Kilgore officiating, interment following in the church cemetery. Mrs. Cole was a member of Adams Chapel AME Zion Church. A native of Cleveland Coun- ty, she was the daughter of e late Bob and Susie Logan Whisnant. Surviving are her husband, Henry Cole; and a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Thompson of Pittsburgh, Pa. J.W. Gill and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of ar- rangements. BETTY ROBBINS Funeral services for Betty Jean Robbins, 52, of 108 A. Seaboard Ave., Shelby, who died Monday in the Cleveland Memorial Hospital, will be held at the Salvation Army Chapel Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. John Hunnicutt will of- ficiate and interment will be in Shelby’s Sunset Cemetery. A native of Cleveland Coun- ty, she was the daughter of e late George Perry and Daisy Emory Champion. She was employed as a bat- tery filler with Smiterman Mill and a member of Salva- tion Army Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Cradle Roll Sergeant and Sunbeam Assis- tant. She was also a member of the Shelby CB Club. Surviving are her husband, Howard Robbins; two daughters, Rosemary Lan- caster of Shelby, and Ruby Dean Smith of Palatka, Fla., a stepdaughter, Shirley Mullinax of Gaffney, S.C. three brothers, George Perry Champion, Jr. of Enoree, S.C., Ralph Champion of Kings Mountain and Packard Champion of Marion; three sisters, Willie Mae Tesseneer ‘of Shelby, Peggy Vess of Grover and Sally Thomas of Hickory; a half sister, Dorothy Bridges of Shelby; six grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. Jesse Bailey, the family minister, pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church. Interment was in Mountain Rest Cemetery with full military honors led by soldiers from Fort Bragg, assisted by Chaplain Bailey. Rhonda Hall, 121 McGinnis St., reported that vandalls ulled the screen from her ack door. Gary Greene of KM Trim Shop, King St., reported that vandals took the tires from a 1980 Toyota Truck, estimating value of the tires at $425. Jim Gaddy, 808 Grace St., reported the theft of one do in pennies during a break-in at his home. Carl Penley, No. 16 Dixie Trailer Parker, reported that during a break-in, vandals took 12 Budweiser beers, a fifth of liquor and a carton of cigarettes. McCARTER Funeral services for Anderson Delbert McCarter, 64, of 224 Battleground Avenue, Clover, S.C., former- ly of Kings Mountain, were conducted Wednesday after- noon at 4 p.m. from Bethany ARP Church of which he was an Elder, interment following in the church cemetery. Rev. Joseph W. Everette, III officiated at the rites. Mr. McCarter died Monday in Charlotte Memorial Hospital. He was a native of York County, S.C., son of the late Oliver Wallace and Zora Deal McCarter and shop supervisor at Firestone Tex- tiles in Gastonia. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Elmina Crawford McCarter; four daughters, Mrs. Shirley Davis, Mrs. Susan Gordon, Mrs. Nancy Callister, Mrs. Roxanne Carroll, all of Clover, S.C., four brothers, Carson McCarter, Scott Mc- Arthur McCarter, Carter, and Donald McCarter, all of Clover; five sisters, Mrs. Geneva Moss, of Fort Mill, S.C., Mrs. Beatrice Lane and Mrs. Virginia Keever, both of Gastonia, Mrs. Ola Mae Stewart of York, S.C. and Mrs. Dorothy Lemings of Clover; and nine grand- children. M.L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. MABLE W. RABB Funeral services for Mrs. Mable W. Rabb, 69, of Wig- gins Trailer Court, Kings Mountain, who died Monday in the Cleveland Memorial Hospial, were conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. from New Bethel Missionar Methodist Church of whic she was a member. Rev. Charles B. Horne and Rev. T.W. Lovelace of- ficiated at the rites and inter- ment was in Shelby’s Sunset Cemetery. Mrs. Rabb was widow of John :Alvin Rabb and daughter of the late Arveth Wease and Callie Grigg Wease. She was retired from Universal Manufacturing Co. Surviving are three sons, Clyde Rabb of Sioux Falls, S.D., Roy Rabb of Marion, N.C., and Arveth Rabb of Kings Mountain; four brothers, William Worth Wease of Kings Mountain, Brock Stegall, A.C. Stegall, and Hiram Stegall, all of Monroe; four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Laney of Marshville, Mrs. Rachel Baines of Kan- napolis, Miss Nell Stegall of Charlotte and Mrs. Tence Williams of Monroe.
