Route 1, died Sunday at Gaston Memorial Hospital. ‘A native of Cleveland Coun- ty, he was the son of the late ~ George and Amelia Cathcart Gordon, and a retired employee of Martin-Marietta Company with 38 years of service. He was a membr of Vestibule A.M.E. Zion - Church, where he par- ticipated in the Vocal Choir and the All-Male Chorus and served as a trustee. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Number Four. He is survived by his wife, Eula Mae Roberts Gordon; two sons, Dennis Gordon Sr. of Gastonia and Wesley Gor- don of the home; two daughters, Annette Patterson of Gaffney, S.C., and Lor- raine Rhodes of Shelby; five stepsons, Willie Jay Roberts of Oxon Hill, Md., John Ross, Linwood Ross and Daniel - Ross of Shelby and:Dwight Ross of Goldsboro; six step- daughters, Kathleen Camp, Peggy McSwain and Ruby ---Ross of Shelby, and Evelyn Cross and Loretta Kee of Cherryvile; two brothers, Hillard Moore of Newark, N.J., and Clifton Moore of Charlotte; four sisters, Laura Beam and Gertrude Garner of Kings Mountain, Margaret Wright of New York, N.Y., and Rosie Foreman of Baltimore, Md.; 33 grand- children; and two great- grandchildren. Services were to be held to- day at 3 p.m. at Vestibule AME. Zin Church, con- ‘ducted by the Rev. Walter Adams, the Rev. Pruella Kilgore and the Rev. E. Beard. Burial was in the church cemetery. DENNIS MANN BLACKSBURG, S.C. - Dennis Norman Mann, 26, of Star Route, Blacksburg, died Monday. A native of El Paso, Tex., - he was employed with Over- night Transportation. He is survived by his wife, - Julie Ruppe Mann; partents; ‘B.W. Mann and Faye Leigh Mann of Blacksburg; a : daughter, Sharon Mann of the home; a brother,. Chuck Mann of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Linda Kay Wionger of Blountville, Tn.; maternal - grandfather, George Leigh of Kings Mountain; and pater- nal grandmother, Lucille Marlow of Palmetto, Fla. Drama Slated At KMHS _ “Space War 2,000” will be presented by The Masquers and the KMSHS Drama Club Nov. 20-23 at B.N. Barnes Auditorium. : Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 20th and Nov. 22 and at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens. SWANNANOA - James Brooks ‘‘Jimmy’’ Reid Jr., of 124 Pike Drive, died Tuesday at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was the son of Mrs. J. Brooks Reid of Kings Moun- tain and the late J. Brooks Reid. Arrangemnts will be an- nounced: by Miller Funeral Home in Black Mountain. CUBA REID Cuba Reid, 67, of 505 W. Mountain St., died Wednes- day in the Kings Mountain Hospital. A Cleveland County native, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Bertha Taylor Reid. Elizabeth Reid, ~ Church by Rev. OBITURRIES She was a member of Bynum Chapel AME Zion Church. ; Surviving is a sister, of Kings Mountain. Funeral services were held ‘Sunday at 3 p.m. from Bynum Chapel AME Zion Stella Jackson, interment following in the church cemetery. J.W. Gill and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of ar- rangements. MILLICENT BURKE Funeral services for Mrs. Millicent Burke, 88, of 807 Lockridge Road, Charlotte, formerly of Kings Mountain, were conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. from St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Charlotte by Father Charles Reese, in- terment following in Moun- tain Rest Cemetery.
