OBITURRIES WADE FORD Funeral services for Wade Ford, 74, of 301 Fairview St., who died Wednesday in Gaston Memorial Hospital, were conducted Friday at 3 p.m. from Second Baptist Church of which he was a member. His pastor, Rev. Eugene Land, officiated at the rites and interment was in Moun- tain Rest Cemetery. A Gaston County native, he was the son of Mrs. Lillian Davis Ford of Kings Moun- tain and the late William L. Ford. He was a retired textile employee, a veteran of World War II. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Maggie Wood Ford; two sons, Charles Ford and Ted Ford, both of Kings Mountain; four daughters, Mrs. Barbara Bumgardner, Mrs. Brenda Ivester, Mrs. Kay Moss and Mrs. Wanda Laughter, all of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Charles(Rocky) Ford and Rob Ford, both of Kings Mountain, and four sisters, Mrs. Roberta Whitaker and Mrs. Shirley Hawkins, both of Kings Mountain, and Mrs. Hazel Martin of Hickory Grove and Mrs. Betty Hollifield of McAdenville and 18 grand- children. Harris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. HENRY GRAY Funeral services for Henry Winfred Gray, 64, of 22 Crawford Village, who died Wednesday at the VA Medical Center in Asheville, were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Har- ris Funeral Home by Rev. Wayne Reese, interment following in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mr. Gray was a native of St. Paul, son of the late Daniel and Jennie Lovett Gray. He was a retired textile employee and a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife, Hilda, vey Gray; a stepson. f mr Larry Williams of Concord: and his foster mother, Mrs. Wade Lovett of Fayetteville. MARY ANN FOSTER Mary Ann Foster, 59, of 703 Landing Street, died Tuesday at Kings Mountain Hospital. A Cleveland County native, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Weaver Foster, and a retired textile employee. She was a charter member of Resurrec- tion Lutheran Church, where she was a former president of the L.C.W., former Sunday School teacher and member of the church choir. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Crawford and Miss Essie Foster, both of Kings Mountain. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mountain Rest Cemetery by the Rev. Phillip Squire. The family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at Harris Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice. CHARLIE CARPENTER Funeral services for Charlie F. Carpenter, 79, of 518 Baker St., who died Tues- day night at home, were con- ducted Friday morning at 11 a.m. from First Wesleyan Church of which he was a member. Rev.
