Children Present Play At Long Creek Twenty children between the ages of three and 10 presented the Christmas musical, ‘“‘Psalty’s Christmas Calamity’’ Sunda night at Long Cree Presbyterian Church. The program was directed by Mrs. Betty Davenport. In a series of eight scenes and 17 songs, the children profugey an exciting story of ow ‘it is not by power, nor by might, but by God that we get things done.” Other features of the program were a talking hymn book, done by Barbara Bridges, and the manger scene portrayed by the Primary age group as the junior group sang ‘“‘O Come All Ye Faithful” and a Christmas medley. “Christmas Is A Time To Love” was also sung by the choir and during the Sunday morning worship hour. Dr. Charles Davenport portrayed the role of “The Lord” and “Pastor’”’. Mrs. Joan Smith assisted the direction and Mrs. Mary Lingerfeldt made the costumes. Derriel Smith assisted with sound and lights. This was the second Psalty musicale done by the choir under Mrs. Davenport’s direction. Last Fall the children performed ‘Kid's Praise’. Participating in the musical were David Dameron, Carrie Davenport, Amy Fredell, Cortney Fredell, Jason Randolph, Jamie Parrot, April Wilson, Jeff Randolph, Jessica Moore, Christina Berry, Lee Dameron, Bryan Davenport, Jason Davenport, Richie Franklin, Steven Fredell, Alex Lovelace, Beth Lovelace, James Robinson, Be Smith and Tiffany Par- rott. Second Baptist Sets Holiday Events Young people of Second Baptist Church are planning several holiday events this weekend. The Children’s Church will be having their Christmas Senior Citizens Have Party Mrs. Darrell Austin, Kings Mountain Schools Music Director and Choir Director at First Presbyterian Church, led a program of Christmas music at the an- nual Christmas party for Senior Citizens Club of the Dixon Community last Tues- day night. Prior to the program, din- ner was served in the church fellowship hall by candlelight and lighted lanterns, since power failure occurred in the community at supper time. Tables were also decorated with Christmas poinsettias. Mrs. James Childers, leader of the group, welcom- ed Mrs. Austin and the large group of members attending. Members were given a bear ornament from the decorated Christmas tree as a fovor.
