Victoria Thombs, 205 Thornburg Drive, reported that a gun, valued at $102, was removed from her purse. Wendell McAbee, 904 N. Piedmont Ave., reported larceny of bicycle. B.F. Maner Insurance Agency, 307 York Road, reported that a window was broken out of his car, estimated damage $282. Edgar Griggs, Route 2, reported theft of a gun from under the seat of his car, valued at $80. A shoplifting incident was reported by manager of TG&Y Stores on Shelb Road. A customer walked off with a jambox valued at $50. Diane Wilson, No. 66 Pine Manor Apts., reported theft of a vacuum cleaner and stereo valued at $1300 during a break-in. A drink box was vandalized at Winn Dixie, $20 in coins removed and the box damag- ed gbpeosinaion $300. Richard Scott Wells, Route 4, reported that his car was "damaged by a falling wash bar at the KM Car Wash on York Road. Three Wrecks Reported Property damages were high in three automobile [wrecks which occurred in the Sty during“ the ‘weekend, Police reported. Larry Logan, 225 N. City St., operating a 1977 Olds on Battleground Avenue, told police that he hit his brakes to avoid an oncoming car and lost control of the vehicle, striking a utility pole and do- ing $1,000 to the utility pole and $2,000 to his car. Letitia Wallace, of Route 1, operating a 1976 AMC on King Street which was damaged $900, struck a 1986 Plymouth operated by Ellen Gaffney of 113 Waco Road which was damaged $1500. Lillie Russ, 320 Wilson Ter- race, operating a 1972 Ford which was damaged $50, backed into a parked 1985 Buick owned by Richard Thompson, Route 5, doing $300 damage to his car.
