Spending her first Chrimstas at Kings Mountain Convalescent Center after breaking her ankle in April, Mrs. Allen smiled from her wheelchair and looked at the Christmas tree and talked of Christmases past. Christmas Services Slated Christmas Eve services will highlight the Christmas obser- vance in Kings Mountain. First Presbyterian Church, St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and Resurrection Lutheran Church have planned traditional candlelight 11 p.m. services. Boyce Memorial ARP Church will hold a 7:30 p.m. candlelight service and Trinity Episcopal Church will hold a 6:45 p.m. service. At First Presbyterian Church the Choirs, under direction of Mrs. Darrell Austin, will sing Christmas anthems and Dr. Eric Faust will lead worshippers in the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. After the wedding, Corrie and Ben Allen moved into the house he was born in with his father, Dave Allen. The Allens lived in the house in the Allen Memorial Baptist Church community near Grover until Mr. Allen died in Santa Claus Gets Operation Santa Claus was getting assistance from numerous civic and charitable organizations this week in the form of toys, cash and warm blankets. Kings Mountain firemen, readying to begin their an- nual toy distribution to the needy, said they had received names of more than 300 children and that more names of kids and families are expected to be added before Santa makes his rounds on Christmas Eve.
