He was retired from Robinson Mill in Dallas. He was the husband of the late Mary Jane Dameron Goins. Surviving are four sons, Clyde, David and Ernest Roy Goins, all of Bessemr City, and Lee Goins,Jr. of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Irene Philbeck of Gastonia and Ethel Taylor of Bessemer City; a brother, J. Rudolph Lemmons. A Gaston County native, he was the husband of the late Esther Byers Adams and the son of the late Jim and Vassie Abernathy Adams. He was retired from Snowflake Laundry and a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served as a training sergeant 30th Division Com- pany K at Fort Bragg and Fort Jackson during World War II. Surviving are two sons, Max Downey of Fair Oaks, Calif.-and James T. Adams of Grover; a sister, Ruth Moore of Gastonia; and a grand- child. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice. WALTER LEWIS Walter Lewis, 58, of Route 1, Kings Mountain, died Tues- day night at his home. A Cleveland County native, he was the son of the late Austin and Leola Crosby Lewis and was formerly employed by Mauney Hosiery. He was a member of Galilee United Methodist Church where he was a trustee and member of the Methodist Men. He was a member of D.A. McKay Lodge 584.
