Coach Phil Weathers’ Patriots closed their regular season with a perfect 10-0 record. They were 6-0 in con- ference action, followed by Shelby 4-2, Crest 1-5 and Burns 1-5. Chris Henson, KM'’s 134-pounder, closed out the season with a perfect 14-0 record and finished 24-0 over the past two seasons. Bobby McAbee compiled a 13-1 record, Tracy Sullens and Reggie Moss were 9-1, and Mike Heffner was 8-1-1. Sullens recorded the quickest pin of the year Wednesday against Shelby’s Adam Ashe. Sullens won the 114-pound match in just nine seconds. “Our goal at the beginning of the year was to win the conference and I have to give all the credit to the kids,” Weathers said. “They all worked hard. I’m really pro- ud of all of them, especially the ninth graders, Tracy Sullens, Brady Goforth, Mike Hefner, Chris Henson, Scott Belcher, Steve Robbins and Brian Dellinger.” The Patriots have lost only one conference match in history (to Shelby in the final match of last season) and are 90-8 overall over the past 10 seasons. “It really feels good to win the conference again,” said Weathers, who praised his assistant coaches Richard Ruppe, Dale Smart, Kenny Adams and Jarvis Young for their contributions to the team. ‘“The best win was the earlier win over Shelby, 72-9, when our guys were remembering the loss to Shelby last year and really wanted to win. That was pro- bably our best match of the season. Another exciting match was the one against St. Stephens when Reggie Moss clinched it for us with a win in the 185-pound match.” After defeating Shelby ‘Bo ys Club R Caaf Results of last week’s games in the Kings Mountain Boys Club basketball leagues: January 21 Virginia 28, Georgia Tech 25 - Tank Roseboro scored 20 and Jarvis Bell six for Virginia. Shaking can cause brain damage, mental retardation, or even death. Babies are vulnerable to serious injury because their heads are large, their neck muscles are weak, and their brains still soft.
