So, he designed his own-U Can Write. Scism, who has owned and operated Scism Excavating Co. for 16 years, is using the new word processor to the delight of his secretary-wife,Martha, and they sold their first copies of the manual this week. Scism said he got the idea two years ago and enlisted the aid of his son, Darin, 2I, who attends Gaston College, and programmer Rodney Dyer. The result of their labors is the manual which is easy to read and is designed and written for people who need the ease of a computer but don’t have weeks to spend learning to use the software. U Can Write software is ‘designed to teach you while working with it, say the Scisms. The package includes the manual and program disk which is IBM compatible and requires a 256K, works on any printer and stores about 600 letters on one disk.
