SST First Baptist Sets Musical On Saturday, May 9, at 6 p.m., the Kingdom Players of First Baptist Church will of- fer an encore presentation of the dramatic musical ‘‘Home Again: Portrait of a Family”. This play presents a humorously candid view of a typical family coping with the normal pressures of day- to-day life. The Kingdom Players is one of the activities involved First Baptist Easter Cantata To Be Shown On Cable 3 “Resurrection Day,” the Easter cantata presented by the Sanctuary Choir of Kings Mountain’s First Baptist Church, is to be shown over Jones Intercable, Inc.’s Channel Three on Thursday evening, May 7, and Monday evening, May 11, at 8:00 p.m. This cantata, written by Don Wpyrtzen and Phil and Lynne Brower, was perform- ed by First Baptist Church’s 50 voice adult choir under the direction of Morris Joran, minister of music. The narra- tion was given by the pastor, Dr. Joel Jenkins. Playing the organ and piano were Ellen Elam and Norma Pettus. ‘East Gold Men To Sponsor Breakfast Saturday Morning The Men's Fellowship of East Gold Wesleyan Church will be serving a country breakfast Saturday, May 9th, beginning at 6 a.m. and conti- nuing until 10 a.m. The menu will include country ham, sausage, - bacon,eggs, grits, gravy, cof- fee, juice, jelly, honey and homemade biscuits. Ham plates are $3 dona- tion, sausage or bacon plates are $2.50 donation, ham biscuit is $1 donation and sausage or bacon biscuit is 75 cents donation. In forming this drama outreach, Rev. Landrum secured the ser- vices of Richard Young of Regal Ventures who served as Director of this special project. “This drama deals with the need for our families to bond together in a permanent union as God commanded us,” states Mr. Young. Gray Rikard is James, the grandfather with a great sense of humor. Tammy Cook is Bertie, the grandmother, suffering from heart pro- blems. The grandparents live with their son, Chuck, played by Rick Stone and Janet, por- trayed by Betsy Tessneer. Their children are David, played by Greg Williams and Susan, played by Rhonda Vassey, who are both teenagers and Jimmy, the youngest son, played by Jim- my Ferebee. Their abrasive next door neighbor, Fred, is played by William Ledbetter. This presentation was first given in March to a standing ovation of First Baptist Church members. This en- core presentation is open to the public. There is no charge for admission. “We want to thank our church for their support for this drama ministry produc- tion,” says Rev. Landrum. Revival Set At Midview Revival services will be held through Friday night at Midview Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. Services are at 7 p.m. each evening, Speaker for Wednesday night will be Larry McAllister. Bobby Hope will bring the message on Thurs- day night and James Hamrick on Friday. There will be special sing- ing each night. The public is invited. Spaghetti Supper Planned At Depot Shelby Foursquare Gospel Church will sponsor a spaghetti supper for the church building fund Friday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Kings Mountain Depot. “All you can eat’ plates will be $3.75 for adults and $2.50 for senior citizens and children under age 12. Children age five and under may eat free. Memorial Day At Oak Grove Oak Grove Baptist Church will celebrate Memorial Day on Sunday, May 17th. Following the morning worship service, there will be a covered dish dinner in the Fellowship Building. The public is invited to attend. The church will provide tea, coffee and utensils.
