Es ‘CAL SMITH Country Music Stars To Perform At Central Nashville Country Music entertainers will perform at Central School Sat., June 20th at7 p.m. for Truckers Ranch, an organization to benefit handicapped, abused and homeless children in North Carolina. Well known Country Music artist Cal Smith along with Ronnie and Reno and The Reno Brothers, plus songstress, Juanita Rose and comedian Bobby McLamb at Morganton will be featured. Proceeds from the fund raising show will go toward construction of a working ranch. Truckers Ranch is a life-long dream of former trucker, Frank Hullett, a native of Newton. Hullett is founder of Truckers Ranch, and along with the governing Board of Directors, hopes to: interest truckers in this very deserving organization. The idea is to provide a home-like - atmosphere while learning and working together with these kids, Truckers Ranch. It is hoped that everyone will support this crucial effort to help some kids who really need Vandals Paint Buildings Vandals painted sides of several buildings weekend, according to Kings Mountain Police. Both George Lublanezki, who owns property at 205 and 207 S. Battleground Avenue’ and Clark Tire, on S. Bat- tleground Ave., reported that their buildings were marked by paint, the vandals writing obscene words and damaging the property. Pope Construction Com- pany, which is working at the site of a new Comfort Inn on York Road, reported that a nail driver gun, valued at $650 and drop cords were stolen from a trailer at the! site. Police recovered a 1987 Ford Escort, valued at $10,200, stolen from the park- ing lot at Wade Ford on Shelby Road. Vandals broke out a win- dow at the home of Paul Owens on Fulton Road, doing $100 damage, and a city trac- tor bushhogging on Campbell Circle slung a rock into a car owned by Terry Mack of Shelby. DeWayne Hord, 905 N. Piedmont Ave., reported that vandals broke out a win- dow in his house. Police are investigating . several reports of larceny. James Boheler, 824 Grace St., reported theft of a 10 speed bike and lawnmower valued at $110; City of Kings Mountain Public Works Department reported the theft of a battery from a city vehicle parked in the Public Works parking lot; Johnny Gaddy, 808 Grace St. reported the theft of a radio and telephone from his residence; Grace White, 210 Fulton St., reported theff of a billfold and Faye Lovelace, 111 Center St., reported larceny of a car tag. The tag number is ATL 3745.
