DAVID WOOTEN Ware-Wooten Couple Wed At Oak Grove Oak Grove Baptist church was the setting June 6 for the wedding of Crystal Dawn Ware and David Thomas Wooten. The couple exchanged vows of the double-ring cer- emony before the Rev. Dean Procter of Statesville. Pat Procter was organist, Norma Pettus was organist and Betty Houck was vocalist for the program of wedding music. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Best man for the bridegroom was his father. Melissa Wooten, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor and bridesmaids were" Stephanie Heavner of Cher- ryville, Sandra Broom, Ragor Kale and Tina Broom, all of Kings Mountain. Beth Morgan of Kings Mountain was flower girl and Eric Sinclair of Clover, S.C. car- ried the rings. Ushers were Chris Boheler of the USAF in Arkansas, Jeff Smith and Chris Wooten, both Baptist of Kings Mountain. The bride’s parents, assisted by the bride’s aunts, hosted the reception after the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. Aunts of the bride are Beverly Cardwell, Joyce Kale, Kae Goforth, Sarah Wright and Barbara Falls. Tina Broom presided at the register. Mr. and Mrs. Houston Ware of Route 5 are parents of the bride who is a 1985 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School and at- tends Gaston College. She is employed by Clevemont Mills. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer T. Wooten, also of Route 5, are parents of the bridegroom who is a 1985 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School and attends Gaston College. He is employed by Cleveland Memorial Hospital in Shelby. After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the newlyweds are at home in the Oak Grove Community. DONNA LYNN MYERS ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED—MTr. and Mrs. Bob Myers announce the engagement of their daughter, Donna Lynn, to Thomas Ray Buchanan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Buchanan. Both families are of Kings Mountain. The bride- elect, a graduate of KMSHS, holds an A.A.S. degree in com- puter science from Gaston College and is employed with Ed- win M. Rollins, Inc. of Charlotte. A graduate of KMSHS and Gaston College with A.A.S. in accounting, the bridegroom- elect holds a B.A. in Theology from Central Wesleyan College and is attending Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Ky. The wedding will take place August 15th in Macedonia Bap- tist Church. MRS. RICHARD LEE WARNER (Julie Atkinson) Warners Married Saturday In Clover, S.C., Ceremony First Baptist Church of Clover, S.C. was the setting Saturday for the wedding of Miss Julie Ann Atkinson and Richard Lee Warner. The Rev. John Jacob Thornburg, pastor of Plea- sant View Baptist Church of Morganton and uncle of the bride, and Rev. David J. Stanford, pastor of the church, officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Cynthia Faiston of Rock Hill, S.C. ws organist, David Yandle of Clover, S.C. was flutist and Jim Burgess of Thomasville was vocal soloist for the program of wedding music. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her formal wedding gown of white chiffon was fashioned ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED—Mr. prospective bridegroom is a with sweetheart neckline, basque waist and puffed, long, tapered sleeves. The bodice, neckline, sleeves and skirt were trimmed with Chantilly lace and small seed pearls. The full skirt ended in a Cathedral length train of full ruffles all around. Her veil of illusion net with seed pearls and appliques was trimmed with piped satin and held by a Juliet cap. She car- ried her mother’s prayer book with cascading phaleanopsis orchids, cham- pagne roses, ferneries and gypsophilia. Leslie Renee Bennett of Cary was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Amanda Lynn Jones of Timmonsville, Turn To Page 3-C and Mrs. Reynolds of Kings Mountain announce the engagement of their daughter, Colette, to Timothy Dean Hudson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hudson of Hickory. The bride-elect is a graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School and Lenoir Rhyne College and is employed by Chaircraft of Hickory. The Jake raduate of East Burke High School and is Smpioyed by Hickory International of Hickory. The wedding will ta e place August 22. MRS. MARK EVERETTE HARRIS (Beth Bates) Bates-Harris Couple Wed Saturday In Hendersonville First Baptist Church ' of Hendersonville was the set- ting Saturday for the wedding of Elizabeth Ann (Beth) Bates and Mark Everette Harris. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy G. Bates of Hendersonville, former residents of Kings Mountain. A graduate of Hendersonville High School and Appalachian State University, the bride teaches at Philo Middle School in Winston Salem. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Everette G. Harris of Winston Salem. A graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston- Salem and Appalachian State University, he is employed by Edgewood Baptist Church in Winston Salem as Youth Director. He will enter Campbell University School of Law in August. The Rev. Richard Liner, pastor of the church, of- ficiated at the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Ronnie Waldrop was organist, Curtis Allison was pianist, and Matthew Kissl- ing was violinist for the pro- gram of wedding music which featured a trio compos- ed of Krisalan Anderson, Jef- frey Lowe and Marty Prunty. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her gown of white bridal satin featured a dropped waistline and full skirt extending into a chapel train. The long sleeves, bodice, and hemline of the skirt and train were embellished with appliques of Alencon lace, iridescents and pearls. Her fingertip veil of il- lusion was attached to a wreath of orange blossoms and pearls. She carried a cascade of mixed spring flowers in shades of pink and mauve, white miniature car- nations and baby’s breath. Miss Laura Rebecca Bates of Boone attended her sister as maid of honor. She wore a floor length gown of rose pink with short puffed sleeves, a full skirt and cummerbund with self bow in the back. Her headpiece was a wreath of mixed spring flowers tied with rose pink ribbon. She carried a cascade of mixed spring flowers. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Robert Pugh and Mrs. Stephen Hendrix, both of Winston Salem, sisters of the bridegroom; Jennifer Hen- Turn To Page 2-C SHARON ANN ROBERTS ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED—The engagement of Sharon Ann Roberts to George Thomas Carpenter is announc- ed by her parents, Gary Roberts and Linda Roberts, both of Kings Mountain. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Haywood Carpenter of Kings Mountain. Both the bride-elect and future bridegroom are KMSHS graduates. Miss Roberts is employes by Clevemont Mill and Carpenter is employed by Philips Dupont Opticals. A September wedding .is planned.
