TOMMY BUCHANAN Donna Myers, Tom Buchanan Wed Saturday At Macedonia Mr.and Mrs.Thomas Ray Buchanan, who were wed Saturday, are on a wedding trip to Charleston,S.C. and afterwards will be at home in Wilmore, Kentucky. Miss Donna Lynn Myers became Mr. Buchanan’s bride in a 2 p.m. ceremony in Macedonia Baptist Church at which Rev. Ervin Houser of High Point, uncle of the bridegroom, officiated at the double-ring candelight ceremony. The bride and bridegroom wrote their own vows for the ceremony which included the impressive Unity Candle ser- vice and parents of the couple assisted in the lighting while Mike Woodberry sang, ‘Love Them While You Can’, a song dedicated fo their Dyrenss and written by the’ r ide and bridegroom. Dur- ing the ceremony, Kay Ham- bright sang ‘Holy Ground” and joined Mike Woodberry in the duet, ‘Flesh Of My Flesh. The benedictional “Wedding Prayer’ was sung by Mike Woodberry after the exchange of vows. During the ceremony Jim Kale read I Corinthians 13:4-8. x The altar of the church was banked with greenery and ar- ranged with white candles in 15-branch candelabrum and two seven-branch spiral candelabrum with the Unity Candle raised on a podium and centering aqua and yellow flowers with palms and ferns in the background. Miss Delores White was organist for the program of wedding music, Eric Myers,brother of the bride, was oboist and vocalists were Mike Woodberry and Kay Hambright. Bob Myers escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. The bride’s wedding gown was a sheath design of white satin taffeta. fashioned with modified wedding band col- lar, sheer yoke front and back, pearl and Alencon lace trimmed bodice and shirred leg o’mutton sleeves with Alencon lace appliques on net. The focal point of the dress was the sheath skirt with Alencon : «lace the back hip with two self rosettes that fell into a scalloped Alencon banded and edged attached chapel train. She wore a pearl tiara which held her illusion veil and blusher and carried a bouquet of aqua mist and pale yellow lilies and baby’s breath arranged with pearls and ivy. Sylvia Watkins attended her sister as maid of honor and bridal attendants were Vanessa Jenkins, Alana Moore, both of Kings Moun- tain,and Linda Lockhart and Tashia Maton, both of Shelby. Charles Jenkins of Kings Mountain was best man. Ushers were Eddie Berry of Gastonia, Ray Lockhart of Shelby, Louis Hopper and both of Kings Mountain. Junior ushers were Trenton Dye of Gastonia and Robert Ingram, Jr. of Kings Moun- tain. Mya Feemster of Gastonia was flower girl and Justin Feemster of Gastonia was ringbearer. Junior bridal attendants were. Monquine Jimson and Katrina Watkins, both of Kings Mountain. Geraldine Dye hosted the reception after the ceremony in the Fellowship Hall of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The newlyweds have returned from a trip to Myr- tle Beach,S.C. and are residing in Kings Mountain. ‘The bride is the daughter of Margie Hopper of Kings Mountain and is a 1981 graduate of Kings Mountain ~ High School.
