KM Nurse Delivers Grandchild Kings Mountain Hospital nurse, Daisy Stewart, delivered her second grand- child in her first home delivery Wednesday morning at 2 a.m. on her daughter-in- law’s living room couch in Gastonia. Crystal Stewart and baby Sierra Nicole are both doing fine and have been discharg- ed from Gaston Memorial Hospita. The baby, the cou- ple’s second child, weighed nine pounds, 5Y2 ounces. Mrs. Stewart, who has been a nurse for 33 years, in- cluding obstetrics, said she had been on hand for many deliveries but never at home. Mrs. Stewart said she dial- ed the emergency number when Crystal Stewart’s labyr pains began but a thunderstorm struck, lines were tied up and Crystal's condition wouldn’t wait. The whole family, in- cluding proud papa Rick Stewart, are thrilled with the new addition to the family.
